Great presentation! I have blown through two fan blades since I’ve bought my bx25d . I won’t even tell you the cost to repair, the engine has to be removed so you get my drift. The in use using a brush hog was a perfect demo , thanks.

Thanks Scott! I hear ya on that. I have a video on the channel about replacing it when I smoked mine. Thankfully I did not have to remove the engine! I can only imagine what a project that would make it! Thanks for watching!

Well here it is May 6 2021 and Fed Ex just dropped off my BXpanded skid plate and I decided to view a couple installation videos. I watched one from a guy whose tractor was spotlessly clean and then I watched yours LOL. it's good to see someone using a tractor for what it's meant for and I'm sure the guys at BXpanded were happy to see there product put to a real test. My new 1880 never mows grass as I have a big zero turn which makes any tractor mower obsolete and was a retirement gift from the wife. I will be able to leave mine permanently installed and thanks.
@Tyler_Koehn3 жыл бұрын
Haha yep she is definitely not a garage queen! Yeah having a zero turn sure is a lot nicer! Should have never bought the deck to be honest i went back to zero turns as well. It provides a great cut but taking off the deck and front end loader (and backhoe 50% of the time) weekly got old really quick! Thanks for watching. Hope your armor works out great for you.
@joer92764 жыл бұрын
HIGHLY recommend for any time you’re moving around without the mower deck on. Wish I had known this before taking out my hydraulic fan with just under 4 hours on my 23s. Now it’s ALWAYS on any time my mower deck is not on the tractor. Install was easy, easy on and off.

Love your video but having an issue with removing my Armor plate for service work. The deck adjustment know is almost impossible to turn back to it's lowest setting. You mentioned in this old video how yours was wrong from the factory. Is there something I need to do to get the adjustment knob to turn without having to use a pipe wrench.
@McScott763 жыл бұрын
Awesome video. I'm getting ready to buy a new BX2380 and will be using it to manage a couple of acres of woods with a stream. Lots of debris and opportunities to damage that fan. I asked my salesman about a skid plate, and he acted like he'd never heard of the problem and didn't know of any aftermarket options. I honestly don't know why Kubota doesn't offer this as a standard accessory for their tractors. I guess they make too much money off of replacement fans. The dealer also probably loves to charge those service hours to replace them. I'll definitely be ordering one of these ASAP.
@Tyler_Koehn3 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud! Yes definitely a must have and for the price it's hard to beat! I agree that I'm sure they love to charge for the replacement! All labor for a $3 fan! Thanks for watching. Lots of bx videos on my channel should you care to subscribe!

I just got mine yesterday, but haven't installed it yet due to rainy weather. You should check out my short video of my new bx1880 with some mods I bought from dealer and my favorites purchased from Paul & Kathy Short of Specialty Repairs in Canada. They even have some cool mods for your backhoe when you use it, assuming they aren't sold out, that makd me jealous. I wiskmh I had the bx23s. Anyway, if you get anything from Paul & Kathy, tell them Donnie recommended them. I plan on getting more, later, but what I have make using mine a lot easier. I am looking forward to installing my skid plate, too. Your video makes it easier to understand.

Looks like you've went to a different tire tread as well. Video starts with turf tires and ends with a bar type tread. Probably better for the work you're doing. I like the skid plate, looks easy enough to work with. Have a Blessed Day !
@Tyler_Koehn4 жыл бұрын
Good eye! Unfortunately due to a sidewall puncture in the brush-hogging madness, I did give up the turf tires! To be seen in a upcoming video :) They are for sure more appropriate for this kind of work, however not so much for mowing my lawn in the rain season!! haha oh well at least I shouldn't have to worry about flats anytime soon!

Yeah I looked into them however from what I understand you don't have the option of a quick on quick off which is necessary when you use a belly mower like I do. They are also more expensive. I have no complaints about the bxpanded whatsoever. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

If you're using 3-point attachments that skid plate will be going up and down with the attachments.

I just purchased bx23s with factory backhoe and FEL. The mower deck lift arms dont drop for the skid plate to hook up. I could be missing something very obvious as I'm new to tractors. Any suggestions?
@Tyler_Koehn4 жыл бұрын
Sorry just saw your comment. If your rear 3pt arms are dropping Check the dial for your mower deck height. Could be set to high. If your 3pt arms arnt dropping likely the speed control nob needs to be loosened. Hope this helps
@t-bone64674 жыл бұрын
@@Tyler_Koehn thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately neither of those fixed the issue. I did additional research and discovered a snippet in a Messicks video that occasionally the arms will not drop unless there's some weight on them. That turned out to fix the problem on my machine.

With no weight under there I usually have to push the 3 point arms down while holding the lever in the lower position , no biggy!

Looks good. I am thinking about an orange baby tractor. I lost my lil' red mf gc1719 over 5 years ago and I figure it's time to get another toy tractor. I am torn between the bx1880 and the bx2380. The 1880 will possibly do all that I'll need, just afraid its too week for tilling/plowing. Gotta do more research to see if they make smaller implements that won't be too much for it. Its cheaper and thats the main reason, but I'll have to think long and hard about it. BTW, man, you should have washed your baby tractor before you put him/her on KZbin. Shame shame. Lol. JK, man. GOD Bless.
@Tyler_Koehn2 жыл бұрын
Yeah she's a dirty girl. Haha doesn't see too much for washing however ample greasing🤣 yeah I would say more hp the better. If it wasn't for the nice small size of the bx I would definitely want more pto hp than this tractor produces. I wish I could speak for the tiller but that's one attachment that I have yet to get.
@BigDsHomestead2 жыл бұрын
@@Tyler_Koehn I was joking about being dirty. Theyare tractors. Gotta expect that. Anyway, the dealr is bringing my "Mini Bota" tomorrow. I finally chose the bx1880 w/loader and box blade.
