I screeeeaaaamed when I was right about the spider's *ahem* issue. But was also wondering if this was about to go full spider and it had been weaving some mind web the entire time. Also if the *ahem* issue ruined an entire ancient species planet... how the heck would Jakob think it's safe to re-board a ship and go back to Earth?

I read the book this was based on, which includes another major storyline dealing with his father and grandfather that wasn’t really explored here. I think trying to focus strictly on the marital problems was a good call in theory, but I don’t think they managed to make their relationship believable. Instead, I cared much more for Hanush and Jakub’s relationship. Also this movie ends much different than the book. The scene where they are free floating in space plays out differently and is only the halfway point of the novel. Also the reason the Czech were leading the space race was because other countries didn’t want to risk human life to explore the cloud.

I still might have to watch it during the day and look slightly to the left 😅😨 Paul Dano's voice is 😊calming, so hopefully, I'll get over it for the story and acting. Moon is another space drama w Sam Rockwell that sounds a bit similar, which i loved. Thank you guys. 😊

A lot of people give Adam Sandler crap about not being funny, I'm not really that big into some of his newer stuff but his 90s stuff for me is where it's at but a lot of his post 90s stuff where he's serious actually hits home pretty good in my opinion, Click had me tearing up and nobody's going to convince me that he's not an amazing actor after watching Reign Over Me because that's one movie I'll never watch again but that has stayed with me for years. I'll never watch it again because of how sad it is, I think I cried through half of the movie and I'm not really a big "crier" during movies

Spoilers: (sort of).. the movie was so good. But the landing was blah… I was expecting because the wife was pregnant, and they kept calling this space dust the beginning, I thought that he was going to die in space, and be born again. Which would have made this movie interstellar type epic !but I really did love this movie all the way up till the last 3 minutes. But it still was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while
@xpf157 ай бұрын
Yeah, i felt the exact same way. the ending was so anti-climatic, especially with a Hanus calling the dust “the beginning , the end and everything” you’d think floating through it jakub would experience something more intense than just his body stretching lol.

When this fool unlocked the hatch to go save the space spider with the space termites, they lost me. The words, “ this is stupid” exited my mouth. Now, about the emotional bits, this guy’s dad was killed by the government, he almost drowned, his girl miscarried. The whole I don’t know how to deal with this, so I’m going to space aspect is going to resonate with a lot of people who also don’t know how to deal. I see the vision and the execution. The storyline is just a little too much on the ridiculous side for me to fully appreciate the film. I suspect the book is better than the movie.

I am so glad you mentioned Jakub not introducing himself - that bothered me so much. Perhaps he assumed as Hanus' tribe doesn't adopt names that it would not bother him if Jakub remained unnamed. It was also quite bothersome how little Jakub asked about Hanus. Like, initially their interactions made sense but what human could resist asking questions of an obviously intellectually superior and ancient being? It feels like the movie was left wiiiiiiiide open at the end. How is it safe for Jakub to return to the SK ship and then to Earth if he spent an immense amount of time with a contaminated alien who had watched its own planet fall to the destruction it was carrying itself? What of Chopra? How many years is Jakub going to spend in prison for sending an insanely expensive spacehip unmanned into the void? It feels like it shouldn't have a second movie but was set up for a second movie.

From Joseph, the "spider/tarantula/Alien" speaks "Oh yeah, I'm from wherever..." which, is pretty human friendly! The 'multiple vision' verses tunnel vision, is what the Jupiter's 'side-effects' are most probably, caused by loneliness - like "bug bomb will not help! Interesting, it's a 'compelling' enough story you think for a good rating!

This movie is just pretentious. An exploration of a failed marriage. That is not done well. So it adds sci fi and space madness element's. Also not done very well. Yes. If it were presented as plausable that the alien was real would be better. If the aliean had other motives. And if the exploration of the marrage were done better. i.e. more context, more development. Just feels like they tried to cram too much into one film. The whole Check Republic "soviet" space race was interesting but ultimately a distraction and was also just tacked on with no reason for being other than to tack on being interesting. Hense pretentious.
