Cichlids drew me to keeping fish about 30 years ago, aquascaping brought me back to it a year ago. My next tank will be a BIG tank, and a cichlid community. I loved how smart and friendly my cichlids were back in the day, quite tame and hand fed more often than not. They would come to the front to meet me, watch us as we walked around. Quite their own personalities too. I love how freshwater has the choice of cichlids because of the colors without the challenge of a saltwater tank. 😬 I have one angel in my 29 gallon breeder tank, he was absolutely teeny when I got him, and it's a community nano tank, lol. So far, no fish have been eaten, he's still small.

For protection, I have foam from packaging on orders that's tank safe I'll probably use to give my rocks a lift and protect the bottom.

regarding the rain water usage, I live in central NY and all last summer we had heavy smoke from Canada, like it was foggy with smoke and smelled so bad, I wouldn't have dared to use any rain water. and I still won't, we get wind currents from all over, so i would never really trust what might be in the rain on any given day, we even get smoke from California fires at times...

omgoodness lmao! I live in the US and we absolutely do drink tea, and surprisingly enough we have tea kettles for stove tops and electric kettles! I personally do not care for tea, but both my adult sons drink tea and coffee, I'm a strictly coffee girl. my dad and my mother in law both drank tea.😅😂😊
