If I remember correctly, there was a law against using children below the age of 14 in mining introduced in the early 19th century. If I’m right, it shows that this mine like many others often ignored such laws, and just perhaps you’ve discovered the evidence of it. What an amazing time capsule this is.

It's an over used word, but that was outstanding. I really appreciate how you took time over all the artefacts and explained things in detail. The finger and boot marks really brought home to me the human element, and how hard their lives must have been. Great video, proper job 🙂!

Something very poignant in the hobnail boot prints. Love the slipped boot print! The cart was so well preserved. I think you two are very brave! Just a thought, would it be worth adding a very simple glossary of basic mining terminology to the description, for people like me, with memories like a sieve?!

The collapses make my point about preserving artifacts, once there is a collapse, any buried artifacts are lost. So, if you guys recover, preserve and display them, then they are there for many others to see! Leaving them in place just means they are wasted or at the most, only seen by explorers such as your good selves.
