PSA (from a butcher) about pigs: Pigs dont need to roam huge pens, but they are certainly hapier if they can properly walk without reaching a fence every 2 seconds. They will also imensly enjoy a mud bath and water sprinklers. Pigs are very social and smart animals! They are joust as smart as dogs. They are also very cleanly animals.....if you give them the space to be clean. One of the most inhumane things done to pigs is how somtimes mother sows are put in cages where they cant even stand up! Sadly there is no focus on pigs or other medium sized livestock because of the admitedly awfull conditions found on some poultry farms. And a PSA (from a hunter) about wild pigs. All of the above characteristics apply. Wild pigs will generally stay in the forest and rarley eat crops if the population is properly managed. They are a problem in the US because they can't properly manage the population. Wild pigs are NOT animals that are after your crops from the get-go. They are pushed on to fields by Overpopulation.
