I had the good fortune of seeing Grady's talk when I was at the NecromomiCon in 2017. Every so often, I get reminded of one of these books like a little sleeper cell in my brain and I have to tell someone about this panel. Thank you so much for uploading, this is absolutely insane and I look like a crazy person if I try and explain it on my own.

The random highjacking of the conversation by the audience members during the panel were usually not related to art, but I loved getting to hear these artists finally getting their due after so many years. Great interview, and Grady's performance during the presentation was brilliant.

Is there any way to see a clearer version of the Animal Attacks map at 27:42 ? Would love to have a proper look at that.

Hey! I was at this talk! It *was* a miserable evening, weather-wise, as the emcee says at the beginning, and I was also getting sick. It was totally worth it, though.

Stephen King was the first horror writer to respond to what people expected in modern horror, even if they couldn't define it and put it into words. Yes, before King there was The Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby and Tryon's The Other. But once Carrie hit, we saw this very Americana brand of modern horror. It was the horror of adolescence meets supernatural horror. King brought the vampire into the modern horror with 'Salem's Lot, the haunted house into the modern age with The Shining, set in a haunted hotel, and gave the apocalypse an update with The Stand. King reworked the archetypes of horror into a lean, mean machine and changed the world of horror.

I can see why majority of these books went out of print especially we can see where the "Pro-Life" Forced Birthers came from as well.

He's so annoying. I hate when nerds speak really fast. It hurts my brain.
