I can't wait for the audiobook. I do Shiftwork, so this will definitely be hard but i will do my best to fit it in my morning shift , night shift and afternoon shift. This will be even more challenging with the wife and kids home from this covid -19 epidemic. This adds more stress cause no school and work but this has gave me light of what is more important and what needs extreme discipline for me and all of us to get through this ! So everyone keep positive a lot of ppl our suffering. You are not weak and think of when we succeed how good it will feel! Have faith we will get through CPPS and this covid-19 ! #fight

Thank you so much for sharing this. You're a legend. I'm experiencing a lot of the same symptoms. I've been on antibiotics for more than a month now, but it's not getting better. I tried working with a standing desk a couple of weeks. It worked alright at the start, but after two weeks I got this crippling pain behind the perineum when I was standing for too long. Not just walking or running, but standing. My urologist was surprised to hear this. Do you happen to know if this is a common symptom as well? That pain makes me fearful of going for long walks... I only started doing the stretches you recommended yesterday, but I'm relieved to see that I'm not the only one out there. Thanks again for sharing this!
@CureCPPS4 жыл бұрын
I do think you can still clench your pelvic muscles while standing. Any static position held too long can cause problems. But I would guess it's the stress behind it that's your bigger monster. I have a sit-to-stand desk (Varidesk, specifically - it's OK) and I do stand for part of my day, but I'm of the opinion that frequent movement (and non work) breaks are more important. Start with short walks if you have to!

@CureCPPS4 жыл бұрын
Yes, hellishly so. Like clearing blue balls but then shooting flaming napalm. I remember being on the floor in agony as I explained to my wife what was going on. Luckily, that was one of the first symptoms to go - even with just stretching and massage, and before anxiety training. EDIT: I did have to wonder if I caught an STD at first! And how that would be possible lol
@dougied48274 жыл бұрын
Cure CPPS Thanks for your reply. This whole experience has just been crazy it’s a real rollercoaster of emotions just when you think you’ve turned a corner it comes back. This seems to be a new symptom now. My normal indications of a flair up are bladder pain and anus pain. I’ve had CT scans, MRI scan, acupuncture ( which reduced the intensity of flair ups ) had 6 months of being on Ciprofloxacin. Had to resign from my job this thing is awful. Sorry Iain to go on, so glad people like yourself are helping and trying to make a difference. I have two young children under 10 years and I’m determined to beat this for them. I will start the exercises again. Do you still exercise when you’re having a bad flair up?? All the best keep up the excellent work. Edit- also had a STD check which was negative

Hey! What is your take on lifting and especially movements like squats, lunges and deadlifts? I am not a heavy lifter but I go to the gym regularly to do training on barbells and sometimes especially deep squats seem to provoke some symptoms. On the other hand sometimes stretches also do this but in the long term stretches are really helping me. I am not sure if giving up gym would be sound advice however.

Came across your videos recently and been doing your daily stretches. I am wondering what were your initial symptoms? I had dull constant pain in my groin area that just never went away. After tests, urologist said it was prostatitis but antibiotics did nothing. I was doing the stretches everyday and walking, felt like it got better but lately the symptoms have raged back. Now I get burning sensations on my inner thighs and sometimes in my testicles or rectum along with the full pain. I hadn’t had this symptom before. Feeling down about it like I regressed. Have you ever had flare ups like this? I keep wondering if it’s not CPPS but I’ve been tested for so many things and everything comes back normal.
@chasehelton25812 жыл бұрын
Hey, I have very similar symptoms. I have not been tested for many things, but my urologist doesn't seem to think it's very serious. I do have IBS which I think has been causing me to tense my pelvic floor muscles. My main symptoms are: tight, dull groin pain that comes and goes daily, occasional testicular discomfort (moreso than pain), and mild constipation. Let me know what you find out!

Your stretching must be a very slow and gradual process. If you force a stretch you make a few large tears in the tissue. If you go slow and long you get lots of tiny tears in the tissue. Lots of tiny tears is much better than a few large ones.

How can we refrain from overthinking brain patterns about existential dilemmas?
@CureCPPS4 жыл бұрын
Great question. I can only answer with what I believe to be true, and not a set of specific practices. My answer is practice and faith. I practice focusing on what I can control, and part of that practice is believing that God has a plan for me - even when the present is awful, and I can't see a future that I want. Or, in simpler terms, I learned to say, "screw it, God's got this." I don't have a worry-free life, or a secret technique. But I can say that this suffering has driven me closer to God and made me stronger. If you let it, it will for you, too.

I don't think that would by why you have CPPS. The catheter wouldn't be able to pull your pelvic muscles - like your psoas (which runs up your back!) - in directions they're not meant to go.

Thank you. Wish you all the best guys.
