Have been using the fitbit flex for around 8 months now. It definitely is very accurate. The battery lasts about 7-10 days, which is very impressive. The only downside to the fitbit is that the band, being rubber, looses its colouring around the edges. Otherwise it it a great product. I would recommend it over the jawbone up.

Bryan Westerveld Yes, it was my daily driver. Everyday exposure to shower and regular swims didn't damage it at all! The band gets dirty very easily though and the blue color starts fading from the edges. Otherwise it's structural integrity is great!

At first I was super happy with it when I bought it the 22nd of February 2014. There were some bits that did not seem okay, but I accepted them. For example: One has to put the Flex on the non-dominant wrist/hand because it is too sensitive and would add every single move you made with your arm, yet you have to mark it as dominant wrist/hand in your online settings. Sometimes, accidentally the sleep mode would activate on it's own. The good thing is that you can feel it vibrate then or you can notice if only 2 lights went on when tapping on it (I would check it a couple of times during the day to make sure). You can fix that in your log by just deleting that "sleeping" period. When you do go to sleep at night, you have to tap it 5 times VERY hard and also to "wake' it up in the morning. Another problem was that one has difficulty linking with FaceBook friends, it might work the first time and maybe not later. The MAYOR problem was when it started having problems with the charger by the end of April and then went completely dead on the 3rd of May. I followed all the solutions given by the FitBit Team and also those given by some people in the Community Forum, yet nothing worked. There are LOTS of people having this problem and, for the moment, FitBit has confessed that they do not have a timeline with a solution to this problem: "Fitbit is aware of this issue and they are working towards a more substantial fix; however there isn't a timeframe of when the issue will be resolved." The only thing they are able to do for the moment is to send you a replacement, with the hope that one will be faultless. This is an expensive gadget, so we hope they are able to find a fix soon. The Force had to be recalled and taken out of the market because of the rash problems that many people had and which FitBit had said not many were affected. If so, then did they have to recall it out of the market? Then now the Flex is having this charger problem. I would not be surprised if they have to recall it soon. My bf gave me one of these for my birthday. At first sight i was skeptical but after a few days it became a nice "friend". My main daily goal is steps and it reminds me about it and that is SOMETHING! It motivates me :) I still have to fully understand the food plan thingy but overall I'm quite happy about this tracker.

I noticed you mentioned that the app doesn't have a barcode scanner for calorie logging. Maybe it's just Apple or there has been an update since this video, my android app does have a scanner.

Your video has helped solve some issues I have been having, thanks. But I'm noticing that the app I downloaded is different than the one yours is showing in the video. Things like steps taken and miles walked are not broken down on my app, and it doesn't show the Flex at the top of the screen. I have a Track Exercise link and when I go to it, it appears it wants me to put in any exercises I might have done. I've had it for about a week now and so far there's no indication on number of steps I've taken. It's very frustrating. At least you helped solve some things though, so appreciate your work.

I loved by fitbit flex when I bought it at my regular Weight Watchers Meeting. Didn't even have it a month when it stopped working. I took it back to WW meeting where a bought it, was told to contact Fitbit directly. I went though everything with a tech who agreed it was a defective tracker and he would email me with detail how to get a replacement tracker. I got the email, sent in my receipt and bank statement. Then was emailed back that Weight Watchers isn't an authorized dealer so the warranty didn't apply! Very unhappy. I'll keep going back to Fibit and Weight Watcher ... this is unacceptable.

Tristan Gump Nope you only need bluetooth on when you want to update the app with your progress, all of the days data is stored on the fitibit itself so you can sync with the app whenever throughout the day, The manual says the unit will store up to 7 days of data so technically you could go several days without syncing at all.

I'm not sure if you already found an answer, but it does come with this little USB dongle that wirelessly syncs with the Flex. If you plug it into a PC or Mac and you're within 20 feet of it, it will sync automatically. You could then check your stats online.

If u have problems with any fitbit devices, beyond your own troubleshooting based on some online tips and chat with Fitbit support... Fyi, Fitbit does not have any service or repair centres anywhere in the world. Once damaged, out of warranty... Just throw it away. Dont believe me? Contact fitbit support via chat and verify yourself. I had to throw mine away.

None of the Fit Bit is water proof just water resistant which means you CAN NOT swim or shower with it. They even stated on their website. If you want to swim with it get a Garmin Vivo Smart , Vivo Bit 2, or Runtastic Orbit. They both can stand up to 50M in the pool. This guy is so wrong.
