FiTech 800hp MeanStreet Install and Start | 1977 Nova
This installation has been a huge goal for me, since I started the channel. I finally took the leap and made the purchase for the FiTech 800hp MeanStreet 30008 system!
The installation was very straight forward and fired right up, after the system was installed correctly! Overall, I give the ‪@FiTechEFImedia‬ system a definite recommendation. The quality of the parts included in the kit is great!

Something that might help you and others out next time. SUMMIT sells a pair of header collectors that have O2 bungs installed. This allows single or dual O2's, LS (dual) or wide band O2 and narrow O2.

Nice to see everything is turned out right at the end. Done the same insterlation whit the 600hp unit 4 5 years ago whit the fuel comand center and switched over to the intank pump 2 month on our canal brother in barns. You should think about to update you alternator I smoke 2 64 Amp alternators up in my camaro now I have a 179amp

I was thinking about that one too! With the electric fans, fuel pump, radio, lighting, EFI stuff, it's going to be pushing this alternator to the max! Good advice!

I am installing the Fitech on my 66 GTO, with one electric fan , on a cold car , the soon i start the car the fan kicks in , it is doing the same on yours ? I taught the fan kiks in when the temp is getting high. Maybe you got the answer. Thanks .

Mine seems to be working fine. On the handheld, you can program the temp at which the fan will kick on. I would confirm that this is set correctly. I believe mine is set around 165 or so. Also, the wiring for this part is pretty important. It sounds like it may be getting power constantly. The fitech unit sends a ground signal, to trigger the fan. I would double check your fan wiring!

It'd great! I will say, make sure you follow every instruction! The unit is very sensitive to wiring issues! Just make sure you get all that down and it runs great! As far as streetability, I'd like to drive it more before giving a full recommendation

@@JakeHarrington thanks for the reply. I’ve been thinking of going to EFi on my new rebuild on my 75 K5 Blazer. So far the the Edelbrock AVS2 has been pretty good. It just takes like 10 minutes to warm up lol.

That's the best thing about the EFI setup! No more electric or manual choke to worry about. The throttle body senses the Temps, and makes the necessary adjustments! Starts right up. I started it for the first time when it sat for about 2 months. It was probably a 20 degree day and it fired right up without issue!

@@JakeHarrington The AVS2 has no problem starting in the cold. Just takes a long time to warm up. Also I don’t know if the fuel ratio is right since i dont have a wideband gauge yet lol. With a EFi it does all that for you and adjust depending on the temperature. I just don’t know how reliable these EFi conversions are. I read mix reviews on them. If I do go EFI ill probably buy spare parts for long trips.
