Thank you Anthony for this advice. My only caution to your audience is to be very careful in supplementing with DHEA. I took 25 mg. twice daily of this hormone for four months straight and noticed my hair starting to thin. Apparently, DHEA can be converted to DHT which is a catalyst for hair loss. Supplement with caution!

If a full day fast is too much for you (Step #5), I recommend a 16/8 fast on weekdays only; where you skip breakfast and only eat between 12pm-8pm (12-7pm is ideal so when you sleep by 9:30pm your body is done mostly digesting), I've lost a ton of wait lately doing this, and I haven't ever felt starved like I might with a 24hr fast (although I will try this soon too)....combined with a low carb, no sugar diet, drinking water only, and walking at least 1-2 miles a day...the pounds are flying off!

THe problem with supplements -- that I'd love for you to address - is that they are not regulated. Curcumin for instance is often grown in places like India where soils are commonly tainted with heavy metals (though the product may be certified organic). I would love to take Curcumin, but not at the expense of ingesting lead along with it.

When drinking green tea, is it ok to mix in a little Mio water enhancer and apple cider vinegar, or will that negate the positive effects of the tea???

Hey Jim, thanks for writing in! It's not as if it will negate the positive effects, more that most of these enhancers come with harmful artificial sweeteners. Sound advice. Suggest that water for green tea be about 175 degrees rather than boiling. Also, high quality green tea can be brewed more than once, so don't be put off by high price. My favorite is Dragon Well from China. Green tea is drunk 'straight' no sugar, no milk.

@Fitfatherproject3 жыл бұрын
Hey Karl, thanks for writing in and great question! Chromium can help with insulin sensitivity. However, for those with normal chromium levels, the benefits are not as pronounced as those who are truly deficient. If you feel or know this is you, it's best to take chromium with a carbohydrate containing meal due to its potential interaction with glucose metabolism. -The FFP Team
@tmmartin504 жыл бұрын
I agree with most of your tips BUT the scientific consensus on supplements is that most of them are just going to make your urine more expensive. The best advice is to eat nutritionally rich food that contains these nutrients/supplements, i.e. eat fish instead of taking fish oil, etc. On the other hand, I take Vit D and magnesium even though I have no evidebce that I am deficient. Curcumin and probiotics are examples of supplements which have better results in lab tests than they do in human bodies.
@ChrisGaultHealthyLiving3 жыл бұрын
I look at vitamin pills as an insurance policy. I still try to get my vitamins and minerals from food, but in case I don't get it in, the vitamin pill helps. I take a multi-vitamin that also has B-12 since I'm vegan. I think they help but just my humble opinion!

Raw Organic Cacao is one of the highest plant-based sources of magnesium, the most deficient mineral in the Western world. I checked the labels on 5 different Raw Cacao brands and NONE of them lists magnesium, but when I googled it, it's true that it's a great source of magnesium. It's just not added to the product, so it's not listed. See the Dr's comment at 12:35 minutes into the video.
