Loved that you noted "Focusing on relationships and our students mental health is so important." So agree with you here. I've had to pull back a few of my assignments over the past year just to lower the workload for them as well all navigate online/hybrid learning. Thanks for sharing and answering everyone's questions!

Thanks for sharing Michelle. I hope you are able to connect with your second grade teacher...wouldn’t it be wonderful for him to know how inspirational he was. I always keep in the back of my mind, my students won’t remember my specific lessons but they will remember how they felt in my class. 💕

Wow, that last question and answer really got to me. I am a new teacher myself, and I've really struggled with learning to love it fully - and it's just funny to me because my "alternative" interest is exactly what you said: graphic design/marketing field. That is so strange that you mentioned it lol

I don't understand why some want to make differentiation so difficult. I honestly just give different levels of articles and do choice boards. When I taught math, I had different levels of worksheets and would just hand them out just based on where the students were. You are so right about relationships. On Friday, we really didn't teach. It was the day before Halloween and our kids needed something normal. Since trick or treat was up the air, we had Halloween at the school and it completely lifted up their spirits. Not just the kids, but the staff. We needed something normal.

Totally agree with purchasing a document camera. I actually used it before the pandemic happened in class and I loved it but using it while remote learning is a game changer. So even when we go to back teaching in class it will still be something you will use so it will be worth the investment.

Michelle, thank you for a fantastic video, as usual! I hope you and Billy had a wonderful wedding and I wish you a lifetime of joy! Also, I want to thank you for sharing your realistic opinions and ideas for virtual learning. My district is doing virtual learning with a phased-in hybrid model starting in second quarter. As a third grade teacher, I will be returning in-person with half my class with me and half on Zoom starting in January. I appreciate your videos on this channel and the Teaching to the TOP podcast from you and Bridget. You both have encouraged me and helped me consider new options to improve my teaching craft. Furthermore, you have reminded us all that the relationships we forge with our students are paramount, especially at this time. Please know how much you are appreciated! 😊

I agree with building relationships with your students as the most important aspect in teaching in 2020. I stan you for that. ❤️ Thanks for this video. I would like go know how you group students during Google Meet conferences. I am having trouble with that but still want to see my students collaborate and communicate with each other. Note: Our school's using a free Google Meet so we don't have the breakout feature.

I’m sorry you have fallen into the eating disorder path. Limiting your calories and counting macros is not the way life should be. I hope you will realize soon that this is not sustainable in the long term and you probably are hungry all day long because you are restricting carbs. Please don’t do that to your body.
@PocketfulofPrimary3 жыл бұрын
Creating a calorie deficit in order to reduce body fat is in no way an eating disorder. Plus, counting macros is a great way to ensure your diet is balanced. Trust me, I’m not hungry on a daily basis 😂
