Will think about electric in the future. I'm working on my 69 ghia that I saved from the crusher. I need to get it running. Hope to see you on the road 👍

Have you heard of the one-stroke engine connected to a charger as a range extender? The e-REX is a range-extender that weighs 35 kg, is vibrationless, and keeps the battery at peak condition within a preset range giving you the longest wearing battery. You can use a smaller 40 mile range battery pack and the range extender makes sure you never run out of electric power. By using the smaller battery pack, you save weight and improve performance.

Question, where did you send off to get the adapter plate made? Can you give me that info?

Actually a clutch isn't needed to change gears. Back in the early 2000s I visited a shop that converted mini-trucks to electric power. They used a rubber coupler instead of a clutch and had the driver shift without a clutch by matching motor and transmission revs. This is called "floating" and is used by some semi drivers to do clutchless shifts. Apparently the mass of the motor's rotating parts makes it a bit easier to shift without a clutch. That said, if I converted a car and kept the transmission, I would prefer to have a clutch.

How long to recharge Battery Pack, Does it support fast charging? Did it get that 125 mile range?

How will the gearbox survive if you pull away in 3rd gear. The torque will strip the gears and ruin the lay shaft bearings

Wow what a shop they sent it to China to have it made...
@alittlebitgone2 жыл бұрын
Huh? They had one part custom made by a shop in China, are you saying anytime any shop uses any part made by anyone else they are not a real shop? How strange.

it was never intended to perform like a Porsche. It was intended to look good, be reliable and economic. VW saw no need to compete with its high performance cousin. I really miss my '67 KG coupe.

Yes, nothing custom made here. The adapter plate also looks like the one sold from EV West.

A beautiful car which they did a really good job on, but it's sacrilege turning it into an EV. You've just taken an iconic car and turned it into a milk float..

I grew up in the 70s and we were all into muscle cars. There were 2 of the cars at our high school and the nerds driving them caught total hell. Ugly ass little cars compared to the GTOs, Mustang Mach 1s and Trans ams.

Blasphemy to do that to a Karmann Ghia. Just because you can, does not mean you should.
