I fitted mine with a few differences. On the rear door, I threaded the camera wire through the rubber loom. I threaded a long loop of copper wire through first, hooked the knurled cable end in through the loop, covered it in masking tape, added a big blob of lithium grease, and pulled it through. Then the main loom goes above the rear doors to the passenger side and runs inside the top rail to the front. So I routed the camera wire in the same place. Again, pushing a long loop of copper wire first and pulling the camera wire through. I then cabled tied it to the main harness where exposed. Then push the headliner slightly and the camera cable enters the cab. Route it round under the rubber seal above the door that covers the edge of the roof liner. Thread it down to the fuse board beside the glove box and up through to the pocket area above the radio. That's where I mounted my little monitor. I didn't bother connecting it into the reverse side of things, I know that's not right, but sometimes I like to view what's going on whilst not in reverse. All connections can take place around the dash area.

did the same, a few squirts of WD40 inside the loom worked great

@@rumpa09 on plastic, rubber, nylon etc.. always try to use a lithium or silicone based grease or spray. Over time, other forms of grease and spray can deteriorate plastic, rubber, nylon etc.. But putting the wire through the rubber boot of the door made it so much neater.

Such a shame that all these Movano third brake light cameras don’t see the tow bar. Reverse signal can be taken from the reverse lamp of the tail light.

Ok I've watched really carefully. I've learned loads but Im a bit confused about the power to it. You connect it to the brake light connector and then im not sure about what happens at the other end of that circuit. You take off the fascia at 4:00 and Im not sure why. Im fine with the fusebox thing, having now watched a load of videos......

A nice safety feature. Have you ever fitted side facing cameras to see in it's safe at an angled access road?

Yes, if you look at my video about front facing camera you will see a side camera as well.

Hi, I have a question: what fuse did you replaced in the fuse box? I havent seen back of your fuse box lid where it is displayed. Thank you.
@master-movano2 жыл бұрын
I used the cigarette lighter socket, as I know power is disconnected when the key removed.

@@master-movano Thank you, it works like a charm. EU left side driver has it a lot easier to install. Pain was getting cable with big connector through rubber hose that you went around. I managed to get inside and it looks great. Cheers and thanks for sharing.

What was the total time of installment? Nice video.

Is the camera on all of the time or only when the reverse gear is engaged?
@master-movano Жыл бұрын
I like to have it on all the time, but I'm sure there is a wire to connect to make it come on for reverse only.

@@master-movano Thanks for the response. There obviously will be an on/off switch on the monitor. I have ordered a Movano and I’ll take delivery of it after Xmas. This is one of the first jobs I will do on it. Thanks for the great video 👍
