A great way to suff all that impressive work, by the way air going straight in at the front in going to give you more air pressure. But it’s your car not mine, I just don’t like them myself.
@ShenkeGarage3 жыл бұрын
Yes you are probably right the air coming into a front facing scoop is most likely going to perform better. I'm not a fan of the front facing scoop that's why I went a reverse.
@willziesgarage71433 жыл бұрын
Coming along very good man. We used to use that panel bond in the panel shop. That’s what we use to hold the 1/4 panels on, then spot weld and weld. But they can easily hold a 1/4 panel on by its self. There are testing videos somewhere on KZbin where they do a crash test to show the strength of the panel bond 👌🏻👌🏻
@ShenkeGarage3 жыл бұрын
It seems like very strong stuff. I would hate to try and pull the scoop off the bonnet

Nice job ,the other option is to let repliglass do it all for you, they will even cut out underneath if you ask on a full glass bonnet. How did the epoxy rub back as on my bonnet it was like as hard as a rock to sand ..
@ShenkeGarage3 жыл бұрын
I was thinking of going a full glass bonnet but just opted for the glass scoop. I think there a bit of a lead time for a full bonnet. I have yet to rub the Epoxy back as yet. When I rubbed the cab back it was not too bad but yeah it does get a hard shell on it.
@coreygear61333 жыл бұрын
True about lead time I wasn't in a rush helped ,got it back on now in 2k looks ok ,I've got shit gaps on the hr so mite try your process been pondering staring long enough now.

Just found this build 3 days ago watched it from the start, now hanging out for the next episode……love tonners, had one, want another, Surprised you didn’t cut out the back of the cab for extra room inside and a flat clean look from the back.
@ShenkeGarage3 жыл бұрын
Glad you watched from the start to the end. That must be a few hours now. I did think about shaving the back section but decided not too as would be a good week of work and I just had the cab sprayed in Epoxy. I do like the idea

Nice job Sambo. I would look at making your cut out slightly bigger if you can incase you want to go with a larger circumference air filter. Watch a couple vids on them, more surface area equals less restriction. Be easier while still in primer than down the track. Not a huge fan of reverse scoops but it came out nice mate. Think it will look great once in the final colour.
@ShenkeGarage3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Carl... I never really used to be either but I like them now. There not really many options out there on scoops. I was thinking the BA bulge would look ok.

Did you find this was a better option compared to ordering a complete fibreglass bonnet?
@Mr07obrien3 жыл бұрын
A full fibreglass bonnet is illegal in Qld I think adam
@stinkfinger19423 жыл бұрын
@@Mr07obrien Pretty sure you're right, mine had to go over the original bonnet.

Personally i would fill and weld the end off the cross braces.. Look at how howard astil designs. How he does a bonnet he. Has won a few street machine 1st place
@ShenkeGarage3 жыл бұрын
I think so. The only real advantage to the fiberglass would be lighter bonnet. I did look into it but it was a 10 month lead time to get a fiberglass one. Im happy with the fiberglass on steel.
