A fine sewing needle takes care of the bubbles - pierce at a shallow angle to the surface (not 90°) at one edge of the bubble, and work towards the hole.

Top tip I found doing mine, cut an 1/2 inch /12mm strip from the backing paper and leave the rest on, then position the decal and stick it with the 1/2 inch of adhesive strip then once its all in the correct place start removing the backing and work from the centre out works every time.

I'm quite liking watching with build. I have a brand new 21 Husky 701 sumo showing up late march and I can't wait. And I know it's a little late for you lamb chop but for those reading this. Get some plain cotton or wool gloves. They will allow your fingers to slide over the stickers as you press down preventing blisters.

Looks pretty awesome ! Decals - You should cut the backing paper down the middle, hold one half in place with masking tape, then peel the backing from the centre for the other half and work out to the edge. Then remove tape and peel and fit the remaining half. Only use heat gun to fit the decal into difficult shapes - use it to much thou and you'll stretch the decal and it'll never fit. Why didn't you remove the original decals or are they moulded onto the bodywork plastic?
@LambChopRides3 жыл бұрын
Yeah original are moulded in, only raised ones were the ones on fork protectors

You can use a spoon to save getting blisters on your thumb. I fitted some genuine KTM graphics once and found they started to peel at the front edges of the front panels where they're most exposed to wind/rain, after about 6 months. I wondered if it's worth spraying the whole panel with clear coat to cover the edges? Maybe Crispy know.

The graphics look good , I’ve installed 3M clear protection self healing film on my HD Tri/glide rear fenders and used the wet method , to me it worked better and a plastic bondo spreader really helps to get the material down & get the bubbles out , time and patience LCR now for any small imperfections use a sewing needle to give the trapped air a exit hole , you did a good job I thought a couple of tips would help for when you do another one , I have years of experience doing this, bring on the wheels
@LambChopRides3 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy good tips with the needle will try it 👍
@deniedpilot86283 жыл бұрын
Im not entirely sure on the ratio, when you install window tint, you can use a mixture of baby shampoo and water. What this does is make all the surfaces slick so you can get the bubbles out and have time to move the decals. When you get it where you want it press out excess moisture out and then let it dry. Much easier than sticking a sticker to a surface and it sticking to everything that you dont want it to stick to.

I would never attempt to put decals on dry, its much easier when wet because you can slide them into place and less risk of stretching or tearing if you have to lift it for a second go. Just squeegee out any air bubbles and leave to dry.
