That’s the way I do it also I will sometimes put my wrist pins in the freezer for a min just to help not always and I was always told you have to remove about 1 mm off both sides of the small end when using LS rods with any of the R pistons gsr type r and CTR But B16A pistons will work fine
@badguysworldwide4 жыл бұрын
yea it was just over 1mm

So how much rpm are stock rods and pistons good for if using ARP rod bolts? I'm running a P08 D15B and a B20 soon to be GSR head swapped, both still on stock rods/pistons with ARP rod bolts. I'd rather not find out the hard way...lol

we have sent stock ls rods with rod bolts to 9200 rpm but its sketchy lol

need to not over heat them if thay cool and stay a blue color ur fucked thay loose clamp force
@badguysworldwide3 жыл бұрын
the shop i learned this from has done probably 100,000 rods in over 40 years of machine work and have never had an issue with blue-ing the small end
@thedistance8843 Жыл бұрын
Yea I've had a similar issue were I had a wrist pin shift and gouge a cylinder from re-using rods. Not sure if within time from heating them up and putting about 3 different sets of pistons onto them, if one of the rods lost its clamping force. I now always use floating style with circlips to prevent any of these mishaps.

@@thedistance8843 its not reuseing rods its not useing the proper way of installing it u heat rods in hot oil and dry ice pins rod oven damages them RTFM
