As for the comment about high performance filters being hype: Hitchcocks did a Dyno run on a J Platform 350 and a DNA air filter, and the performance gain was around 10% or 2 BHP.

When riding in dusty environments (enduro many years ago) i used to grease the inside of the filter box. It traps a bit more dust before it gets to the filter.

Nice channel, you got a new subscriber! The sensor you are showing on the bike is not air flow sensor, it's the intake air temperature sensor (IAT).

I know I shouldn't say but if I'm servicing a bike or car for someone and find one of those oil soaked filters I bin them and fit a standard filter. No complaints yet and I've been doing it for years. Nobody has noticed any performance change.

Mechanics like you are the reason I always do my own servicing. It is a well established fact that a performance air filter allows the engine to breath more easily. The stock paper ones are cheap, nasty and disposable. Whereas a performance air filter will last a lifetime.

It's all just hype, 1 does it so everyone follows. Watch a video of servicing in India, they just blow the paper one through and put it back. I understand owners want to tinker with their bikes but any advantage if any comes with changing a number of components. Each to their own.

I actually only run stock air filters in my Himalayan but I need to clean it out on a daily basis as I ride off road a lot. It is easier to just take it out and tappets it out when IAM a way for a few days instead of carrying the cleaning kit with me. As I live in Bulgaria we only have one small dealership here they don't carry any spares and have to order everything. I buy all my parts from India. I have a years supply of oil filters for bullet and and Himalayan and is one of the reasons I have fitted a DNA filter in the bullet as I won't need to buy another one from India because I have to pay import on everything I buy. I appreciate your point of view but there are + & - for both 😉

I understand your point, I live in Indonesia and have to source from India. Enjoy watching your videos VM 👍

Wow! You are really knowledgeable aren't you. Well done. I used to have a Kawasaki GT750 P4, well I've had two of them for despatch riding, they had an oil filled foam air filter. You should have seen the muck come out after a week in London! I fitted an oil K and N filter to my 3.5 lt Bmw 735i. Really boosted the power and significantly dropped its fuel consumption. They have a design life of one Million miles the K and N. Not meant to be binned. My Fj1200 had one too, needed constant cleaning or else it ran like a jack hammer! 😅 love from Downunder. Great Tee shirt btw.

DNA filters are supplied pre-oiled and ready to use. Curious to know what reason you had for oiling it.

Where do I get a module for my bullet? This bike I bought has a non-standard exhaust fitted to it, so it's popping and missing like mad

proracing24.com/en/proracing-chip-box-basic-series/23-proracing-chip-box-120-5904830940008.html This is the one I fitted. You need to tell them what bike you are fitting it to and they will set it to a base setting for you to work from.
