She says this is for barrel racing. Personally, I think for pleasure or a few other disciplines you can have more room than it needing to be that tight of a fit. But it really depends on rider preference.

I find it's a matter of personal preference. I'm 5'2 and 124 lbs but prefer a 16 inch barrel saddle, with a 5 inch cantle.
