How about a frame walkthrough? Explaining the pros and cons of different sizes and angles of bike frames that make them more suitable for street/park/dirt. I've seen quite a few frames with similar specs even both full chromoly but one could be 4.5lbs and the other 5.5lbs both within +/- .25" TT . where does that weight sneak in? Should you start worrying about frame lifetime/durability if a bike frame is too light?

I have a modern day skyway that with the 9 tooth cassette. Do they make a driver that has a larger tooth count than 9 ? Like a 12 or thirteen?? I don’t mind buying the whole assembly but I don’t like being stuck with only a nine because I want to run a slightly larger sprocket for what its on. Thanks for any help

@@bjimbosld for modern day cassettes, I think it can only go up to 11T. Stolen makes 10T and 11T drivers. After that, it's all freewheel. They go from 12T and up.

The 12t for the bigger side are hard to get, as there's only the one company that makes them, but normally that big side goes down lower than 16, I think it's 14. I know 15 for the bigger side is common

Yes, it's uncommon. Fairdale uses them too on the Taj bike. Your hub is M30 threading only, which is uncommon, and in this video he says they don't make them, but they sure do!

Also free hack for fixed gear riders, if you have a geared hub with a disc brake, you can remove the disc brake and cassette & screw in a cog where the disc brake would be to make a fixed gear hub!

If you buy a complete nowadays, is the cassette hub equipped on them the same as he's describing here? Or is this like an upgraded version of a cassette? Asking for a friend.
@TuesdaysTurn
@TuesdaysTurn 2 жыл бұрын
Most modern complete 20" bmx bikes come with a cassette with a small tooth cog like 9t. Some of the more expensive ones have drivers you can buy as replacements, and you could get a 10t or 11t, but some of the cheap ones are hard to find (or impossible) if you need a new driver.
