Top job Dan. You made the carpeting look easy. I know its not your first rodeo but it's still quite a daunting task. It took me two attempts to do my van and after seeing yours I want to re-do mine. That carpet looked really nice to work with as well. Great job on the windows too. I love the "fake window" look too.

Thanks for the positive vibes guys 🙏🏼 TBH I’ve really gone through the mill (mental health wise), redundant, divorced, basically needing to restart life mid 40’s, and don’t know how to. KZbin probably isn’t a great place for me to spend my time as all I see is people succeeding constantly (nothing at all wrong with that btw, I’d do it too), but it makes my hole seem even deeper to climb out of. MH is an invisible problem, which has no clear path out of (for me at least). Also I hate the term mental health, I’ve just had a load of isht hit me in quick succession and I’m struggling to rebound. But anyway if I ever manage to drag my sare out of it and get a T5 to convert I’ll be sure to watch your vids Dan 👌 TMI 😂

Thanks for the how to video . Can I check a few things , did you prime , paint the cut edge , would you better finalising the window lining ( over the cut edge ) before installing the glass , avoiding glue on the glass ? Is it worth filling the gap in the double skin of the metal panels and finally how did you get the neat edge on the side loading door , stanly knife ? Thanks again great video Are you still doing the tailgate ?
@DanChambersDAC2 жыл бұрын
Yes I did prime the cut edge to seal it and stop any rusting issues. Looking back it would have been easier to bring the carpet over and then put the windows in. Some companies to fill the gap between skins with sealant yes. Edges on the sliding door were just a stanley blade yes, I explained how I cut the edge in the video. Collecting the tailgate today.
@leeevans6194 Жыл бұрын
When carpeting the doors, have you ever considered or seen people use U-shaped rubber seals to outline the door to tuck the carpet into? I've just bought some from amazon to try on my caddy... hopefully will look good.

So is there no need to ply line the van then ? Seeing as the metal is carpeted or is any ply lining going to be minimal ?
