Hi, your mods are mind-boggling impressive. I am trying to make my first mod, a farmer with a grafting blade. I am thinking of using the spring from the large blade on the 93mm and add a washer to compensate for the thiner blade on the grafting knives (as far as i understand those are simmilar to the blade on the 91mm saks). But I am wondering if any other tool can fit with the blade, maybe even the barklifter? Do you have any thoughts on that? Also, could I use the bottle opener spring for the grafting blade and thus keep the original one? Also, I will use the scales from the 2023 limited edition. I love that color. Any info on this would be greatly apreciated, it is very confusing for a beginer to plan it out. All the best!
@FittoSurvive2 ай бұрын
@@olariucalin1789 Hey, thanks! So, the pruner blade (I assume that's what you are talking about) can be placed opposite the original large blade with an original thinner spacer or it can be placed opposite the bottle opener without any spacers.
@olariucalin17892 ай бұрын
@@FittoSurvive Hi, thank you so much for the quick response! I was referring to the pruner blade/ grafting on the 100 mm models (like the floral knife). So I would like to either add that to a farmer instead of the original large blade or to keep the original blade and use instead either the can opener spring or another blade spring. Would that work relatively easily or require some major modifications?
@FittoSurvive2 ай бұрын
@olariucalin1789 OK, gotcha. I've actually never tried that one. But, I assume it would work best on the blade spring. Should be pretty similar thickness.

Idea: make another one where the bow limbs fold out the grip like normally the knife and other parts would. Then the folded out bow limbs have their own hinge which allows them to be hinged backwards to create the bow shape. Let the string be integral part of the bow limb ends which becomes a carry strap when the bow limbs are folded inside the grip. Entire thing internal to the grip. Extra points if you also make the trigger and ‘bud stock’ fold in and out. Forget all the other knife components.. Cool little project 😎

I know that probably it would not be even saw, but, if you appreciate new ideas for project, I always thought about my favourite low profile victorinox bantam with the swiss tool mx thumb stud blade installed in place of the normal blade you pinch with your nails (that is always hard for me), and maybe some lock mechanism (mx blade should be some form of lockback but I don't know if it's adaptable) like some times you just need to show victorinox that an easy and cheap upgrade for their knives is 2 easy steps away. And I think that spyderco blade despite the best steel would ruin a bit the perfect form factor of the bantam
