Wuben X3 - Outperforming the competition??

This is the most interesting flashlight that I have reviewed in a long time. It has so many well thought out features that make the X3 an all around champion. What do you think about it?

Oh, no charging port is a big no no for me. Shame because it looks really nice. I often when out use a powerbank to run my lights for extended periods of time. Nice review 👌🏼

Yeah, no built in charging port. Have to use the charging base of carrying case.

Carrying case is a 3000 mAH powerbank and also has a usb-c charging port. Flashlight can be used inside the case also while charging. Seems like a win-win to me.

Everyone saying good things about this light what they don't tell you is how hot this can get at 150 lumens extremely hot unbearable.

The guide is supposedly to give instructions about changing it, but it still means one has to get a new one from Wuben, which means overcharge of the cost then reliability of them staying in business and actually make the batteries. Surely such a form factor could've allowed for two 14500's, meaning more charge and ease of replacement.

Looks like this flashlight has a lot of potential. Great video. What is the IPX rating on the light ? I would guess based on the design , it's IPX-65

When you were showing the moon light, I was thinking what a pain that blue light could be. Then you informed that it could be turned off. Great review, great flashlight.

Cancelled mine the more i looked at it. Non-replaceable battery and the run-times outside of low weren't great for me. I don't wanna lean on a case to get better times.

Kind of a novelty but I ordered one and I'll get good use of it. Already have plenty of bright lights for the few occasions I need them, this will be perfect for camping and rafting trips where its just used at night for going to pee or messing around in the tent. Battery box will give me enough juice if I forget to charge it during the day off banks or solar, and will make a good tent/kitchen lantern.

Nice size, cool features, so so charging (But I can live with it). However, the pocket clip is a deal-breaker. It is totally for show and almost entirely useless. Almost half the damn light sticks out of your pocket. The name of the game is deep carry. I don't want a Pocket knife that sits an inch and a half above my pocket, or a flashlight that does the same. Wuben, fix this.

I’m about to finalize my flashlight. Should I go with dual white bulb or should I go with one white one red? What would you choose and why? If I go with two white it will have 1200 lumen. Thoughts?

The red light on this flashlight is pretty impressive. But, if you do not usually use a red light, then the increase of lumens on the dual white leds is definitely the better choice.

@@FittoSurvive I found my answer. Stick with the red and white because this is the only option with the high CRI Samsung lights. The double White uses another kind of bulb which is high lumen but lower quality.

Having a device with only wireless charging will degrade the battery very fast with all the heat being released from the charging. That happens with cell phones all the time when people only use a wireless charger and with this having no removable batteries..

Interesting. I can see why you wouldn't like that the battery is non-removable. But why don't you like the wireless charging? Think it will be inconvenient?

@@FittoSurvive not only is it inconvenient, because you can't really charge it without that brick. It's inconvenient because of efficiency issues, it's a waste of energy to charge this way, and it's slower than wired charging. And unlike most people I'm worried about electromagnetic pollution, I am sensitive to radio waves, I can't use a Bluetooth headset without getting a headache unfortunately 😕. I won't go into details about the battery issue, but as a technician I love being able to fix my toys, I'm sure you feel the same way so I'm wondering if you have heard of the framework laptop, I can't imagine a guy like you without one of those babies.

Who knows, maybe we'll see something like that in the Wuben X4. 😁👍🏻 I have heard of some people being sensitive to wireless signals. I'm sure it is very inconvenient. I have heard of Framework, but I do not own one of their laptops. I used to do some PC modding as a teenager, but I haven't done anything like that in 10 years or so.

What i find annoying and strange, no where is it stated what the batter mAh of the light it self is. They only state the charger has 3000mAh, but nothing about this light?!

I think i remember seeing a video on i believe kickstarter. I dont get why they dont have a better product page. For instance, that charger case, the white cap is also a diffuser. But thats no where stated on the product page.

I only buy flashlights with replacable ordinary batteries. Having a flashlight with no charge on it is useless... and I am often out longer than a single charge can last....

Rovyvon has models that have a rechargeable battery and also can accept a AAA and you can switch between the two. Something like that may be a great fit for you.

LedLenzer t7.2, Olight imini as a necklace ready to grab... and a small button cell key led light built into the scale on my custom victorinox... and then there is ofcourse the phone... lol

​@@JokerInk-CustomBuildsfeel the same way, been using the rovyvon e8 angel eyes as my daily. I'm a full-time locksmith, and it really is an amazing light. Running ICR 10440s as a replacement for the AAAs. And honestly it's a perfect edc light. With all of that being said, I still found myself purchasing this light. I love tech, and some pretty cool features on this light make it a no brainier imo. I'm purchasing it knowing that the batteries will die someday. But I got it for 65 dollars. So as long as I get that much use out of it, I'm fine with it. Seeing how much I use the angel eyes. I'm positive that I will get that use out of it. Plus, doesn't hurt having more flash lights.

Ye same here i never knew u could get torches with battrys thqt cwme out say like an 18650 2200mah battry i seen 1 on 2bay a light and a 18650 battry and a little chqrger where u plp the 18650 into it and i thought wow thats perfect 4 me qs i hqvw loads of battrys and loads of 18650s and i am sure i watched this full vid but never heqrd the run times did u say them

My 2 cents is that it's too gimmicky. I like the idea of a wireless charging but I would have stopped there. I don't see the point of having additional piece of equipment to have a fully operational flashlight, meaning that case. What happens if it breaks? What if you don't have wireless charger when you really need the light and the battery is low? I feel it's a novelty light for enthusiast but unpractical for everyday Joe.

The charging case is meant to hold extra juice for your flashlight. Kind of like wireless buds. But yeah, if the battery dies and you don't have the case or another method for wireless charging, then you can't charge it. Who knows, maybe on the Wuben X4 they will have dual charging capabilities? 😁

This looks like a super nice light with a lot of innovation. However the price concerns me. All that for $50?? I can’t help but question quality. I’ve tried other Wuben lights and quality has been great so I’m just scratching my head at that price
