I first learned of these guys (and gal) from Live from Daryl's House and Fitz definitely has a Daryl Hall vibe to his vocals and he and Noelle singing together are dynamite. There isn't a bad song on their first album, Picking Up The Pieces, because it all has this old school R & B vibe to it. Their subsequent stuff has been a bit more poppy - not bad, just different from this. Great reaction as always, Jamel.

I love when they did this at Live at Daryl’s house. It gives the song new meaning ( record labels). So many artists have been robbed by the music industry. I’m so happy for the ones who survived and thrived in spite of them. Thank you for reacting to another one of my favorites 👏👏👏👏

Love them so much! Listen to Rich Girls, Tighter, Don’t Gotta Work It Out, Pickin’ Up The Pieces. And yes, they are a current band with an old school sound & look.
@vaportrails79432 жыл бұрын
They got noticed for this awesomeness, got signed to a major label, changed their sound and had some slight hits, but never reached this level of greatness again. This is one of the best songs of the last 20 years at least. They nailed the Motown sound.

These guys are great and definitely are all about that old school retro vibe. You hit the nail on the head, about 10 yrs ago. Michael Fitzpatrick came up idolizing Daryl Hall, so it was a big deal for him to do Live at Daryl's House. That would be a perfect next stop. Their second album was cool, as well, and changed up the style a bit. Check out The Walker from that one ✌

Fitz and the Tantrums were guest on Live From Darryl's House, and they were a perfect match. The vocals do sound a bit like Hall. This is from their first album, which is more throwback. Their next albums were more "modern" sounding. Good, but I prefer the "throwback" myself.
