I've told you a couple of times that you taught me how to weld and I thank you sir! You gave me the courage and inspiration to tackle my 39 Ford Panel that I rescued from a junk yard. It was a RUST bucket. It's on the road now and for that I can't thank you enough. Keep up your work and inspiring us. Take care. Bob in Idaho

Looks awesome. Hard to believe you've brought that rusty car to this point. I'm impressed. You were talking about that looking like a drawer or sink. Look back to your trans tunnel video and then google saturn 5 rocket. You'll never not see it again. It's all i can think of every time I see the tunnel. Can't wait to hear it run and see it move, it's just looking so sharp, Sam

Tony, if your tank measures 20"x18"x10" then the capacity is 18 gallons. Smokey Yunick told the story of his welding on a 55 gallon drum that held gasoline. It was empty and had the bungs not in it while it sat outside his shop in Florida. It sat there for a few years then one day he found a use for it and needed to do some welding on it. He figured that it was safe because so much time had passed. He lit the torch and moved in on the tank and found himself outside the garage. The fumes that were still in the tank caught on and the tank exploded. It literally blew him out of the garage. The sun in Daytona can be unbearable in the summer if you are just sitting on a paved lot next to a building. You would think that any fumes would have been gone but no. With the bungs on top the vapor stayed in the tank. I am afraid to weld on any tank that held gas and don't plan on ever doing it.

One more small (rather large) step towards completion. You might even have this project finished by the end of Spring?? It will be interesting to see how it goes at the drag strip. Should really fly. The biggest concern is how you'll go with registration. Here in Australia, it would be a big hassle to get something like this through registration because of the extensive modifications to the shell.

Great job, well done. I have a question. Not familiar with fuel cells but i thought I heard you say that if you use a carb in the future that you would use the two ports at the bottom of the tank for that. If so why did you not install them facing forward toward the engine?
@fitzeesfabrications40 минут бұрын
Under speed gas tends to go to the back side of the tank so with these mounted in the back you won't run out of fuel

@fitzeesfabrications38 минут бұрын
Was a time it was called attention to detail but today it seems it called ocd. Lol
@nealnaz2 сағат бұрын
Tony, I watched to the end. Lol! 2 questions.... the seams are rust prone and no primer/sealer was used and wonder if seam sealer is adequate and whether you will also undercoat with a rubberized sealing product or ask what product/procedure do you use against water and moisture intrusion? When you drill drain holes do you also use rubber grommets to be able to remove them, or another type of seal?
@fitzeesfabrications51 минут бұрын
This car will be a fair weather car. No need of all that protection. Seam sealer locks out moisture. No plans on any undercoating on the bottom. Only on the wheel tubs.
@dannylee91382 сағат бұрын
The real work comes seam sealing and coating the bottom
