I've been restoring, mechanical and bodywork for 40+ years. Found your channel rather recently. You have lots of good tips and the low buck methods are really helpful to the vast majority of guys and gals doing their own projects.

I have just landed here the last week, and have been binging your content. 99.9% of us will only be doing a level of restoration that we can show at our local car get togethers, and your channel shows us we don't need to be reaching for that Concours level of perfection on our projects. Cheers from Ontario

I found if you punch holes in the rim of any paint can after you dump the paint out into your mixing container the rest of the paint around the rim will drip back into the can hardly any mess to clean up nice work again it's a pleaser to learn from you I have been messing around with bodywork for well into 40 years and still learning every time I watch you .stay safe and have fun

@@fitzeesfabrications A better ides is to do what Junkyard Dave does. He puts tape over the rim so that the paint doesn't get into the sealing surface and it stays clean.

Fitzee, on that putting thinner in first, then paint, I’ve also found that you get a better, more consistent blend with thinner in first. The thick paint clings to the sides of the container and resists complete mixing if you put it in first. Maybe not a big deal, but it’s what I always do when thinning paint. As my eyes age I have also found that marking the level I want to hit on the mix container with tape or a bit of black marker makes it easier to see the mark.🥸 BTW, your new lighting is GREAT! I’m gonna have to get busy and do the same thing in my shop!🌞

Hey Tony . I was just watching your video of painting the 66 mustang . great video ! I like your concept all the time of "Nothing Fancy". When I was growing up , my brother and my uncle would always get old cars and trucks and fix em up and paint em up,. just like you do . just some good ole guys that liked good old cars , fixen em up the best they could, with what they could afford , out in the back yard or the garage . and I've done the same over the years also.,. my uncle never had a welder ,. he used to make his patch panels by hand like you do and rivet them in,. my favorite to this day was his Six cylinder three speed column shift four door 1965 Chevy Bel air, that he painted Baby Blue. Nothing Fancy,,. but it was beautiful. Keep up the great work buddy , thank you for your videos . Tim from Wisconsin.

B5 Blue is my favorite Mopar color, going back to the 69 Roadrunners all the way to the newer Challengers of today. It's a striking, iconic color that is right up there with GM's LeMan's/Mulsanne Blue of the late 60's, early 70's. Fitzee, that is going to be one beautiful little Mustang when she's done. Thank you for sharing everything you do, with us!

Ahh brings back some memories from the summer of 83 when I did my first 66 mustang with black satin acrylic enamel in the engine bay and blue acrylic lacquer on the body. Tremclad/Rustoleum is a great budget paint. I've never used it as a topcoat for a car, but used it on tons of other stuff. especially frames, floor pans, metal furniture, etc. Great tip on using the thinner with it, it does take a long time to dry. It's almost like a single stage, minus the catalyst. It also rolls out//brushes great if you're using it on places where you don't need a super smooth finish and you don't have a spray gun/compressor. Painting the engine bay/jambs/etc is a perfect place to use this paint - it's tough and it'll save you a lot of money instead of using your base/clear where you don't need that nice of a finish.
