With 5 KTM 890 Adventure R's, our team had fun days at the Tiveden Spring Tour 2023. Again we gathered for a ride like we did to Poland last fall. Then 5 guys with a mix of 790's and 890's, now happy campers with the refined 2023 KTM 890 Advenure R's. How did that happen... (We could call it the @biketrollhattan4412 team) Anyway, this adventure started with me and Ari-Pekka finding our route to te event thru testing a beta version of the new app stegra.io/ the route i made took us thru very nice gravel roads to Askersund and the event location. The app is actually genius for travelers that quickly want to make ad adventure route. See more on the latest episode on ‪@nordicadvtv‬ where we interview the team behind the app and walk thru the details and future plans.
At Askersund we met up with the other 3 guys in the team and as well all other adventure riders, which some where old good friends. Nice to see all again!
This video has no music since i wanted you to just experience this as is with some voice over.
I also make some comments on the Mitas E07+ tires that comes as OEM on the new KTM 890 Adventure R.
Yes, You bet we alot of fun!

Just shows that you don't need background music if there is enough interesting footage. Adding narration works quite well as it enables you to say things that you might have forgotten at the time. It was also fascinating to hear Swedish swearing at times(I assume). There were quite a few words beginning with F and I can only assume the word meant.......Fun! Mattias, you have learnt the 1st,2nd and 3rd rule of videographers where you arrive at a dramatic sight like that 890 in the bog and your prime responsibility is to film it before helping out. It is a moment in time and will be lost without recording it first. One tip for the future, if you film with your smartphone put it in landscape mode rather than portrait mode. You show a wider field of view which would have included the other bikes and riders. I got ride of the front EO7 on my 690 before the first dirt ride.Too risky for the range of dirt we encounter. More please

Good to see you back on the bike Mattias. My go-to tire is the Motoz Rallz as well. Pretty "adventurous" riding with those big machines. Not sure how happy I'd be with getting my Africa Twin buried like that, with another 60- 80 pounds in weight over those KTMs...would be pretty tough getting her out. The AT Adventure Sport may be a little too big and heavy that kind of exploring... Husky 701 maybe...Cheers!👍

You should watch Adam Rieman's vid on how to ride slippery terrain. It helped me out a lot. Momentum is your friend, it's just having the nerve to keep the throttle open. 😂
@Braapncamp
@Braapncamp 7 ай бұрын
Thats the trick, not the first time I ride slipery but I seldom ride in mud with street tires. Kept it slow to see how it worked. Ofc alemways a classic misstake to get forward and control the bike, but safe. Wasn't happy with the rounded tires on gravel either to be honest. On the Dalarna video later last year i had put on my fav (TL) tires. A nice amount of "base throttle" is always a friend. Took my old "trusty" 1200GSA and hillraced up a ski slope (muddy in summer) second gear 2/3 throttle. That was medicine 👍😁. Love Adams videos and tips, this since his early days. Thanks for watching and Your constrctive commenting 🙏 Happy Trails 💪🤠🔥

Haha, Yes we had alot of fun 😂. Love these ride outs. I normally use the Motoz Desert, sound like h*lll but great for the trails. But to be honest, the more aggressive tires does it best work when really pushing the riding style (often with frends). @Braapncamp
@Braapncamp Жыл бұрын
Thanks Jonas! Theyare a great choice for ADV riding lite swedish and norwegian TET, continental TET as well. They are actually only limiting me on this type of rides where it gets sportier, this due to the front tire (most noticeable) rides on top of loose gravel rather than dig in and get grip. For traveling this is not really an issue. My front tire are scrap though, i hit a large stone at speed, the rim held up surprisingly, but the side cord of the front tire broke, so now i have an unhealthy "bubble" on the side wall...
@JoonesAdventuresMC
@JoonesAdventuresMC Жыл бұрын
@@Braapncamp I guess that the riding on top rather than bites the dust also depends on the width of the tyres as well as the pattern. It’s rather wide front wheel on my bike 110/80 19, so it will ride on the surface even with other tyres I guess. 🤔😁
@Braapncamp
@Braapncamp Жыл бұрын
@@JoonesAdventuresMC Exactly this! Thats why all my riding buddies at this ride have changed to narrower rims as well, bot to get tube type tires which opens up for a larger range of offroad tires and makes the shape better. Actually makes a very noticeable improvement for aggressive riding in dirt. I have been happy with stock rims but with more aggressive tires as a nice do it all combo.
@JoonesAdventuresMC
@JoonesAdventuresMC Жыл бұрын
@@Braapncamp but on the other hand with narrower tyre and more aggressive pattern comes more aggressive riding and you getting longer out in the dirt before the bike get stuck 🤔 With a less aggressive tyres you have to plan the riding more an get stuck earlier. When I was off-roading with my pick up I learned, the best way to not get stuck is to avoid the obstacles 😂
@Braapncamp
@Braapncamp Жыл бұрын
😂 Thats always something in that, but the narrower rims/tires actually makes most difference in normal gravelroads with a more loose surface, sand and on dry or wet forest roads. In this mud, none of the tires performes, but the better ones may give you confidence to keep momentum which gives you a better possibility to ride safe and move forward better. The better front tires narrow or not in mud gives you a better chance to not wash out the front and dive at even small challenges. I expected to wash out the front but didn't because i was too careful.

@@piotrwydmuch9413 I had full or lets say "one piece" gear for many year si before i finally get into riding with layering system, i quickly found it as natural as it is for hiking clothing year around. This regardless of what type of ride. Mosko or not, layering is what i like and see as most rational for many reasons. What i like with Mosko is the small company, close to the customer attitude and that they really design nice gear. The luggage is just brilliant and the riding gear has refined and feels really great in your hands as the functionality. Klim ofc makes top notch gear and have layering style gear as well as the all in one function gear.

@@Braapncamp thank you so much. I did consider Basilisk jacket and pants as I own their Nomax tank bag and love the quality, but the thought of wearing separate body armour underneath doesn't feel like convenient thing to do especially when touring on the road.
@Braapncamp
@Braapncamp Жыл бұрын
@@piotrwydmuch9413 To me it's the opposite, i have a body armor that have abrasive protection as well, so i can ride with the body armor only in hot weather or very active riding. I just have a jersey over to keep the armor jacket in nice condition over time. The outer layer rolled down until i need it. It's important if you go the layering way that the protective layer is comfortable and not a stiff "plastic" one. But this is just preferences, to me it was a learning curve until i got down to layering. Some friends just like to jump in to a ready for all suite and are happy, very easy and convenient in a clothing way.

I have done that in sand and mud before I agree on sand. 1-3. With a very short take off inbrott of uphill I deep sand. 3 was better than 1.
