My favorite part of Costa Rica so far is the area around the Arenal volcano. I have been there twice. On both occasions, we did the Cano Negro river tour and visited the Tabacon Resort at night. We had lunch one day at a restaurant called Toad Hall, which was located right next to Lake Arenal. One night, we went to a designated observation area where we saw and heard the volcano erupt.

Technically not from inside the national park since its the national park but lots of people will fly their drone from outside...

Who visited both places: Liberia and Cancun Mexico? What's better for the active outdoor hiking couple? Re: flights from Ontario are pretty much the same time/price.

Definitely not CANCUN. There isn’t much hiking there. It’s a party place.

Hi! How are the mosquitos in general in Tamarindo, Huacas and Villareal during Nov-Jan? If I go out everyday, even to the grocery store or soda, should I wear mosquito repellent? I understand I would have to wear it in tours.

There are mosquitoes in Costa Rica year round
