What's your opinion of these budget items? Do you recommend any budget items?

Nice suggestions, and a good video concept. I carry the FUNBRO trifold scalpel, and it's a handy little tool. Along the lines of the dice, I carry a little brass spinning top as well. A cheap USB/C storage device is worth keeping on the keys also IMO

Thanks for watching and the kind words! Those are great suggestions, I like a spinning top but find I can't play with one as much as a slider or spinner, very fun when the opportunity strikes though. I'll try to incorporate your carry/suggestions into the next budget video, thank you!

I carry swiss tech utilikey daily. I love that I forget that it's there and it lives permanently next to my keys. It's a toss up between a package opener and a bottle opener on its most useful feature for me. The Phillips is alright but kind of needs a desperate moment under the right circumstances to be useful. I've heard of people boarding flights with them but its hit or miss if they'll take it from you at the airport but that's not a big deal since they're 5 dollars

Thanks for commenting! How do you find using the package opener and bottle opener? I know someone that has successfully flown with one multiple times, but I wouldn't try it personally without being okay with ditching the tool. But, as you say, when it's this cheap it can be worth the chance sometimes!

@@gearedforward The blade is sharp enough for simple packing tape but you'd probably have to use the serrated portion on duct tape. I've used it to open clamshell plastic items, but at that level it becomes dangerous because I have to put my weight behind it. The bottle opener won't make you look cool by any means. I tend to start bending the cap upwards, and then do a second point next to it and lift up again, so it takes a bit of fiddling. There are definitely better tools out there, but I consider this a zero-weight/zero-space tool because it kind of disappears when I'm not using it, so it's worth it for it to permanently live on my keychain.

the swiss tech is still cheap as it's all but useless carried one for ages and found that i wasn't reaching for it, it was just too awkward for me the blade seems to be on the wrong side, the 'locking' mech gave in and it would open in my pocket that's just my 2p though

Your coppers are always appreciated here! Completely fair, I can see this falling into the roll of many one piece tools, often carried but rarely reached for. That said I do object to the price part, I've seen plenty useless things that aren't cheap ;)

That's not a genuine ulili key. There's a huge difference between a genuine and a cheap copy. I fell for the same trap.

I didn't realise this! Thank you for pointing it out, what are the main differences in your experience?
