I have a white female Seppala. She loves running and pulling in the harness. She's 9 months old and has absolutely no problem running 10 miles @ 6:30 pace. Definitely not a "fluffy" show husky. Taller/leaner than a regular husky with long legs and tons of energy. Can't wait to introduce her to skijoring next winter when she is 16 months old. Northern climates only and be prepared to put the dog to work.

My Seppela is a direct descendant of Balto in bloodline. He is black with a white tip tail and white socks and has the white mask and chest. He is a very lean dog with longer legs and bigger chest for racing, he can pull me faster than my Siberian husky. He never runs out of energy and when he is pulling the rig he will run until I tell him to stop, unlike my Siberian husky that just lays down on the trail when she is tired.

How do I tell the difference between the Siberian husky & a seppala for my 7 month old puppy came from the North West territories I was told she's a husky but she has short hair not a teddy bear type type

Thanks for watching our video! The Seppala coat is a "plush" coat in which the undercoat is practically as long as the guard hairs. The coat should be soft and of sufficient thickness to protect the dog in extremely cold temperatures, such as -40° F. A heavy coat is proper, but the long, dense, "wooly" coat is not desirable. Long, flat, possibly wavy coats and short coats with no or little undercoat are faults. The Siberian Husky coat is medium in length. It is a double coat with a straight, somewhat close-lying outer coat. A dense, soft undercoat supports the outer coat. The tail is well-furred, forming a foxlike brush or natural tail. The coat is never long, rough, silky, or standing off from the body. You can find videos on each breed with more information! My husky puppy has the pink paws she's 7 months old she pulls really hard & wants to lead on the walk she's a thinker I can't leave her alone for long otherwise she starts to dig & chew on the fruit trees and the berrie bushes & what ever I am eating she wants it too after all if IAM eating it must be tasty in her eyes does a song & dance for what ever I am eating

Unfortunately, we are unable to determine a dog's breed simply by looking at them. Breed purity encompasses many different facets, including pedigree, breed type, performance, and known history of the dog. In addition, for the Seppala Siberian Sleddog breed in particular, the only way to determine if a dog is a true Seppala Siberian Sleddog is to review the dog's lineage to determine if she descends from recognized Seppala foundation dogs. To do this, you would have to know your dog's parents and other ancestors. Outside of the dog's history and pedigree research, there's no way for you to know if your dog is a Seppala Siberian Sleddog or not.

The puppy was a rescue dog from the north west territories her brother had a fluffy coat where hers is more of a smooth haired & I was curious to know if she was a Alaskan husky or a seppala she is totally focused on my cat when I let the cat in the house she will not leave him alone saw her sleeping on the bed while the cat was there first taking a nap together she has the tail of a fox her ears are pointy brown eyes white tip on her tail & her paws pink with black on her pads she is 24 inches in height weighs around 50 lbs her legs are white she's brown & black with white face mask her whiskers are Bristol to the touch not smooth like most dogs are and she gets all excited when she sees or meets another husky
