Sometimes you find a song or hear an old one again, and you find yourself hearing it like you never have before, like you are truly focused on the lyrics, the meaning, even the accompanying instrumental settles in you, under your bones and wrapped around your heart. The song resonates with you in a way it never did before. You understand that, perhaps for the first time, you’re hearing this song from a perspective that, perhaps, the artist themselves wrote, felt, and sang it from. You’ve gone through something, you’re at the lowest you think you have ever been, you have changed. And the memories, the moments that brought this change, and hurt, they connect to the song and you know you will never hear the song through an ‘innocent and carefree’ perspective again. You’ve gained knowledge from living, and music, created by you or not, will always find a way to connect you to these moments in your life. You’ll listen back to it a few years and be reminded of the lows and hurt you went through, but you’ll be able to smile too, because by then, you’ll have lived beyond the initial pain, and you might realize it immediately, but the song takes on a new tone, one that has you saying ‘thank you, for telling me how I felt, for giving me time to grieve, be sad, be depressed, to hurt and make sense of my pain’ and the song? It sings the same lyrics, it speaks the same tone, and the instrumental has not changed, but it speaks to you in another new way still. It says ‘I will always be here, even if I’m deep within your memories, to fade with time, i listened to you then, and spoke to you, through you, and for you, and I would do so again, but until I am needed I will simply remain in you memories under the name Nostalgia, resting alongside everything else in your life’ and perhaps you can make peace with that. With the thought that one day you can listen to the song again, with different ears, and see with different eyes, you will smile even if the song is sad, because after so long, Nostalgia can be happy. This was just my rambling, stream of consciousness, poetry? Perhaps you might find something in these sentences that you can relate to, perhaps not. But I hope that you enjoyed it either way :)

These song are so underrated. My dad was born in the 70’s so he knows the banger rock songs. From the 70’s-2000’s. He has a playlist that has 90’s bangers. My favorite out of all of them. Underrated song and band. Love y’all. #ffdp
