My father died this past Saturday, the last song he listened to was this one. I remember when he introduced me to this band, it was with "the way of the fist". My father loved this band. He was a member of the navy of my country, after he was forced to retire due to my older sister, he volunteered as a fire fighter. Then, after quitting the firefighters, he started training and competing on MMA. After all that he started working as an administrator of a pub-restaurant for most of his life (21 years or so). Then he was fired because the place was going bankrupt. A year later he told me he wasn't feeling good and I took him to a public hospital where he was diagnosed with renal insufficiency (basically, none of he's kidneys worked) and he had to start dialysis. On the 16th of this month (May) he had a car accident where he broke most of his ribs, his right clavicle, his left scapula, L4 and L5 of his spine plus trimming across the whole spinal cord. After the accident he was hospitalized till this Friday, when the medic in charge of him told us that my father was discharged from the hospital because they needed the bed (I have to remark that my father wasn't healthy enough to do that) and so they did. He managed to be with us for the night till 14:30 (2:30 pm) when he started collapsing. I called my fellow firefighters (I'm a firefighter), ambulance and everyone I could think of. They got to where we were, we managed to "stabilize" my dad but his vital signs were getting weaker fast. We arrived at the emergency area, I had to wait outside, and somewhere around 17:00 (5 pm) the doctor told me he passed away. Idk why I'm writing this here, part of me still hopes he comes through the door and told us he made it back somehow, even tho I know it won't be like that. He was only 55, I'm 24 but I just want to feel him hugging me one last time, here his voice, I want to tell him how proud I am for being his son, and for having lived with some like him. I may have lost my father, but heaven won a ferocious soldier. Love you dad, I'll always will.
