My father has been serving in the military for a very long time now and he retires within the next two years. I feel sorry for him. He's gone through a lot. His back and knee is pretty bad but it's not near as bad as how mentally scarred he is. He has told me that he sees the people he's had to kill in his nightmares and his nightmares get so bad that he wakes up screaming and crying. This past summer one of his best friends that he went overseas with took his life and my dad was to upset to speak. His PTSD gets the best of him sometimes and he can't do anything about it. He gets frustrated and upset easily by it. My dad is now in a MC that holds charities for veterans who can't afford the care they need. VMC. From what I understand from what you said, you have served so I thank you for your service. It does not go unappreciated by me, or my family.

+Sebastian Micheals As a veteran with ptsd your words ring true. Just remember when your father is around to always remain calm and supportive. It took 6 years of being on medication for me to be able to sleep without the nightmares. I have friends that ride with the VMC. Great people who really show they care. I want to thank you and your family for being supportive and want to wish you and your father the best.

+Jon Weddle Thankyou for your service. It does not go unappreciated. My dad has felt with PTSD without meds. He refuses to take them because he feels like they make you dead to the world. He takes a form of therapy instead. Whenever he has a PTSD freak out I usually talk to him to calm him down, and light him a cigarette with some coffee. It makes him feel better. The VMC are indeed good men. If they knew of any vet needing help, they're there for them. Once again, I Thankyou for your service.

This is the song that sold me on Five Finger Death Punch. Huge message and powerful music. While I'm no longer a fan of Obama you speak nothing but truth. What our "Greatest Generation" fought from '41-'45 we are now seeing on our own soil. How far we've fallen. I love and respect our troops. They willingly put themselves out there to fight DC's bs wars for oil and the fact that they're treated like this when they get home is a national disgrace. You don't have to hate the soldier to hate current America.

this music video nearly puts tears in my eyes; just knowing how there are many vets out there; men and women who've paid part of themselves for our freedom and such (parts like their time and limbs); people who've in a way took a bullet for us, and this is how they're thanked? I'm a cashier at a grocery store and I encounter vets all the time, and I thank each for their service, as they went through things I never have and hope I never will. With that, after reading your description in the about tab, I thank you for your service.

I am one of those that gets hit hard whenever I come across that video. When my team and I came back from conducting operations in Afghanistan November 2001 (where I sustained injuries from a too close for comfort mortar round which blew me 30 feet through the air causing my L-3 through S-1 vertebrae to rupture, and a loss of 50% hearing off baseline), then Iraq May 2003 where I rejoined my former team after surgical recovery and had a few close calls there....when we got home and walked off of that C-130 ramp, there was no programs in place to help us understand the shit. Our coping/adjusting methods where Bacardi 151 and lots of it. Just had to bury it, lock it away deep inside. I went through many years of confusion as I didn't know where I belonged as I no longer knew where "home" was. It's too long of a story but let's just say that coming back to the states is a harder adjustment than being over in the sandbox. It took away from me 3 marriages, 75% of what I LOVED to do as hobbies due to my injuries, and forever changed me as a person. It's been 7 years since my retirement and I still am unable to remain in any one place for very long, constantly Oscar Mike trying to find myself. 6 months post retirement I almost became a statistic when I had my Glock 19 in my mouth with my finger on the trigger. The ONLY thing that saved me was my one and only son who was 10 at the time out of the blue snuck his celllphone I sent him at around midnight his time (he was in TN with his mother, I was in San Diego), and called me for no other reason but to say that he just wanted to talk to me. Something he had NEVER done before. I was literally seconds away from fading to black by pulling that trigger. He saved my life that night. Never once have I considered that as an option since, but my struggles continue. With time things have gotten better, just so long as I keep the shit "locked away" but...well it is what it is, other combat vets will relate I'm sure. Also, and please do not take this the wrong way...but do not thank me for my service. In fact a majority of combat vets, as well as active duty sorta of cringe whenever someone tells them that and shakes their hand. Again we understand why civilians do it, but....at first most of us were sent over with the belief that we had a mission to protect our country, we believed in those missions. However after time and looking back, we're not "heroes", not even close. Our brothers & sisters that never made it back home, THOSE WERE/ARE THE HEROES, not us. Please just keep that in mind should you get a weird awkward silent response from a vet whenever you thank him/her for their service that's all. As far as the VA is concerned, it only took me 5 years after I retired to get my VA disability rating. I've stepped foot into a VA hospital TWICE and will NEVER step foot in one again. I pay extra to see private practice doctors. My apologies for such a long post. I just wanted to share a real life experiences that backup the statistics shown in this video. U.S Navy Chief Petty Officer, Ret. June 2009 Joint Special Operations Command, Special Missions Unit (JSOC SMU) "semper fortis" ("Not for ourselves, but our country") "De Oppresso Liber" (To free from oppression)

This one really hits home................from a vet thank you sir! You should know that the veterans of allied nations are treated just as badly, in Australia our government refuses to acknowledge Gulf War Syndrome, refusing hundreds of veterans benefits, medical treatment or even recognition of service. As a result, more than 50 a year take their own lives, many are homeless and hundreds are destitute!

My mother hates metal music but she loves this song, aswell as some disturbed and rammstein. This music video made me cry aswell, it's very sad how bad our vets are being treated. It wasn't just the democrats who've wanted war either, it was alot of republicans aswell. Both parties don't seem to represent the American people, but politics aside, this was a very beautiful song and video. Very well done.

+Maverick it's gonna be hard until the 29th of this month- I am putting up a video explaining. Don;t worry tho- I use my crying and such to Get it OUT Of Me- I don;t feel as bad OR sad when I am done. It gets the hurt out- the next time I don;t have to cry as hard. It works. I hope.

I spent about two weeks on my own, and I know, two weeks isn't six years, I was lucky that a great friend found out and came to my rescue. Had they not, I don't think I'd have wanted to be here much longer. That was the end of my service, 2014, since then, I've had to have 16 surgeries so far, knee transplant and such, very graciously taken care for by a closely loved one whom I can truly never repay. I was beyond broken and didn't have much when I left aside from estranged family and a couple close friends, coming back, I had less friends and even less family. The hardest part, in my opinion, is in the military, you're taught to have each other's back, race, creed, religion, beliefs, politics, gender, none of it matters. We're brothers and sisters, we fight and we bleed and we sleep and we die together. You build this, immense trust, brotherhood, camaraderie, then you come back, and, who do you got but yourself? No ones there to talk to, you can't tell the VA everything because once you do, you become another suicide statistic, loaded up on ever drug from a-z. I don't smoke, but, many states don't offer medical marijuana and, I do believe that on its own can assist with so much, it could help so many. It is a treat though, to see such a genuine response to such tragic and true statistics. Anyways, thanks boss. I appreciate this reaction.

Everyone loves a warrior until the war is over, then we get stuck in the corner and ignored and I'm so glad we have bands like this who make it their mission to use their music to shinea light on that

NOT ANY MORE! THANK GOD! And thank you sir for your service! My family all had to deal with this horrible situation with the VA! I will never be buried with ANY of my family because they are ALL in National cemeteries! That's ok I GREW up know this. We buried my gramps when I was 8. All three of my parents are buried there. My Dad was in his thirties. And my stepfather was 49, my mom 52. Thanks for reacting to thos video!
