I used to work there. It’s because we remove the starch multiple times and then half cook the fries before you order. Then when you order we just finish cooking them and the inside is mashed potato like and outside is crispy. And the Cajun spice is fire too.

I'm not big on their food but personally it's probably because I'm allergic to peanuts and it's a hassle to get them to clean the grill every five seconds (and I can't eat the fries at all or benefit from the free peanuts). That said, their fanbase is rabid for no reason because they've never had a good burger for a decent price. I work at Wingstop and do fries most of the time. Depending on the person the weight will be different, but we do weigh them out. A regular fry is 280 grams (10oz) and a large is 510 grams (18oz)

Those nuts used to be in large barrels placed in the center of the floor dining room. Customers used to take them and then bring a bag so they could take alot extra. one thing to note: wingstops fry spice blend has some sugar in it, wing stop fries have a very slight sweet taste compared to FIve guys. Five guys does not have sugar so that sweet taste is not there.
