Saw FIF on their first concert in Europe 1998 and was also able to spend a day with the band visiting Wartburg castle. Between 1998 and 2024 FIF gave me a soundtrack for many wonderful, scary and thankful moments. Sometimes the music was my therapist, on other days my drill instructor... ;-) Here we are in 2024: Alive and still singing. Thank you FIF for your music! 🙂

This made me smile so BIG, you guys! I remember being a young quirky teen at TOM Fest just before your debut album dropped. Such a FUN group to watch on the stage, and even great to talk to in person. Jeff definitely left a lasting impression, and I've been a constant fan since those early days. Now a quirky adult lol. So happy to see you guys around still! 😀😀

I’ve been a fan of five iron for longer than I can remember. My first five iron concert was in Columbus I believe. they had a band called beautiful body’s play before them and I got to go up on stage, the guitarists name was Thomas and he was wild, swinging on the rafters with his guitar. I ended up getting a little too close to the stage and caught a couple strikes to the head by his guitar. Later that night I had him sign my engine of a million plots sampler CD and he told me I took it like a champ. Beautiful bodies only came out with one album but if it wasn’t for FIF I would have never gotten that experience. Thomas is a lawyer now.

Rediscovered FIF this past month actually. I've had this near constant yearning for the past TWENTY-plus years for some elusive music that I swear existed a long time ago, but wasn't quite sure what it was or where to find it again amidst all the musical options that have been out there from 1997 to 2022. Not saying the music was all bad during this time - a lot was quite good - but it was almost always missing something...not enough musical breadth (same 4 chords, same plug-ins, same timbre, same time signatures, same instruments or now lack thereof, same blah blah blah etc), not enough lyrical depth, turn of phrase, extended metaphors, intellectual themes that made me a better thinker and thus a better Christian, not enough...horns. And then I decided to KZbin search what Reese Roper was up to in 2022....And now I firmly believe that FIF deserve their own movement. A FIF KZbin kids program, a musical, a literary work of fiction, youth group Bible study seminar, a webtoon, a documentary. Not of material looking back over their massive achievements, but new material using their collective creative and intellectual genius to do something really cool in various mediums. I just think the world deserves to witness some more FIF art.

This comment is more about the album than this particular song. Five Iron probably used to be my favorite band. But man, why do so many people seem to buy into this idea that the best way to make a difference in the world is through smug, superior political rhetoric? I'm asking that honestly. Is it something to do with prolonged engagement with social and/or news media? I'm not saying don't care about these issues, but rather care enough to be effective. Shame simply is an ineffective persuasive or relational tool, and one we could probably use much less of in our discourse right now. I hope the best for FIF, I really do. I'm just disappointed to see their music, which has such potential to bring people together, instead being used as the vehicle for some kind of ideological paddle.

I think it’s because the company that tracks plays on KZbin just automatically creates “videos” for the record. Automation is crazy. Part of that is posting the songs with comments disabled. Nobody in the band or associates posts those. It’s an automated service.

Ok first of all, I enjoy this song. It really feels like an anthem for 2020 to break through all the noise and pandemic, to give us something to sing and dance to. A perfect pick me up song. Secondly, It's not the word "Ass" that bothers me, its the fact that Reese is now targeting grown ups, yikes! Third, there will be a lot of complaining from some people and all this does is fan the flames to give Reese Roper & Co more lyrics to write. Stop fanning the flames and stop giving Reese more words. Done. [End rant]

I love Five Iron Frenzy and this album is showing us a perfect example of how little regard people have for their elders nowadays and how while we need to not just let people walk into our country illegally, BUT considering the drug lords have made Mexico a living h*ll we need to be offering them asylum until they can do the legal process of membership. And while I love Five Iron Frenzy and the reasons they made this album; I miss the lighter, fun-loving, kid-friendly FIF. Maybe next album will be more goofy. I don't know, life is just getting too real for me; I'm tired of being a teen, especially in the state our country is in. However, this is a good album for adults who grew up listening to this. I think they did a good job putting both far sides in their place.

Ethan Miller So little known fact. Long long time ago before we had turned into Five Iron we were a metal band called Exhumator. I was in high school still and there was a battle of the bands there that we entered. Reese showed up in full on nerd costume and was just super awkward in the crowd for all the bands before us. Time came for us to play and me (Micah) , Keith, and my brother all started playing. Reese comes hauling through the crowd toward the stage tearing off his costume and turning into our metal band front man. It was pretty awesome. Anyways all that to say we would have won that battle of the bands but were disqualified for having dropped an f bomb in our lyrics. This was funny to us because we were the only Christian band to play and in much more conservative times consequently had nothing close to that in our lyrics. It’s a long standing problem.
