This is why we need universal healtcare..so good employeers can retain people that are loyal and enjoy their work and employeers can grow their business without using health insurance to prorate someones payscale..sighhhh

I have proposed this since the nineties, but Republicans won't listen universal healthcare could virtually pay for itself. From 18-65 people pay insurance companies for premiums. When they reach 65, (the time when they'll most need healthcare) they go on Medicare, shifting the costs on government and letting insurance companies pocket the profits. If someone becomes ill and unable to work, disability takes over, cutting the insurance companies losses. Insurance company administrative "costs" run between 25-33% (including CEO salaries) while Medicare and Medicaid run between 4-6%. there is also another layer of bureaucracy to "interpret" the forms and regulations of the various companies, and to deal with the rejection of claims and appeals. All said there are also court costs for malpractice suits that raise costs of courts, and insurance for doctors which increase their operating costs as well. Bernie Sanders estimated that healthcare would cost an average of $100 per month for universal healthcare. The average family pays $2,000 per month through insurance companies, which spent $1 million per day lobbying against it, despite their claims of losing money.
