Five Minute Histories: Shake & Bake Family Fun Center

Shake & Bake Family Fun Center is a fabulous neighborhood recreation center and gathering place in Upton. Started in 1982 by the famous football player, Glenn “Shake & Bake” Doughty, it is still going strong today. This is the 5th and final part of our five-video series with the Pennsylvania Avenue Black Arts and Entertainment District. We are delighted that Lady Brion, the founder and executive director of the Black Arts District, will join us in each video as we cover an important site on or around Pennsylvania Avenue.

My name is ArsenioGee I work at shake and bake for about four years I was also part of the group of skaters the got together for Freddie Gray riot we skated from The skating rink all the way up to Pennsylvania and North Avenue to bring peace to the city I will never forget that
