I don't see the Liberty Ship as ugly, I see it as beautiful in its utilitarian simplicity. The John W. Brown did a total of 13 missions.

I went aboard the SS John W Brown August 1998 she was in port Charleston, South Carolina. I was a Perry Officer 1st Class aboard the USS South Carolina (CGN-37). The So Car's last port call before she was Decommissioned just a few months later. Sadly being a Nuke ship they had to cut her up. One must be a sailor to understand the attachment one get to their ship. But is wonderful to know that some ships survive the and are not lost to time.
