Fun Fact: This entire movie is almost CGI free despite most of the scenes are pure located and filmed at the fake Freddy Fazbear's Pizza that was later demolished after the filming. The animatronics are also pure robots and suits at the same time and the torture chair The only thing that they use CGI here is mostly the springlock scene and Mike's injuries, don't know the others but surely everything here are CGI free even Josh Hutcherson's nightmare.

cause the only other times the kids physically appeared, they led the person they appeared to, to the animatronic they possessed. Freddy, Golden Freddy and Foxy. So to have Garrett do so, and lead to SpringBonnie, would be confusing. To general movie-goers who may incorrectly link it. And everyone else for why Garrett would lead him to the man who wants to kill him. Plus Michael's whole dilemma is that he can't have Garrett back, so him coming back in ghost form would defeat that purpose and leave the ending too open. Since neither Mike nor the audience would know why Garrett appeared, who he possessed etc. It just doesn't work, and is incongruent with the previous use of the ghosts in the movie.
