Those are all really great Kentucky Derbys and the winners showed what you can't see on paper, heart. 2023 will always be my favorite and I will never forget anything about my experience. I told myself when I was little I would only go to the Kentucky Derby if I had a horse in the race. Thanks to Commonwealth, I got an opportunity to buy in on Mage. My eyes water just a bit every time I see the replay. Thanks Mage for making my Derby dream come true!

Rich Strike's 2022 Derby win will stand out in my mind cause his win reminded me of Mine That Bird's win, Mine That Bird surprised everyone, it took 12 years but Richie surprised his rivals, I smile whenever I hear the surprise in Tom Durkin and Larry Collmus's voices when Mine That Bird and Rich Strike took the lead in their respective Derbies. Mystik Dan was similar this year, Larry was so focused on the other horses that he didn't notice Mystik Dan took the lead until they were almost at the finish line.
