Bravo! Thanks for the run through! I only have the book and am now considering the supplement. There's a lot to understand.

You are most welcome! The supplement does help right at the start, and also provides some very useful optional rules for later in the campaign! Have fun!! 😁

Well, that was fun. Pretty typical in my experience with the game as well. Being a DM/GM for decades, I’ve learned to apply rules “Generally” where it makes sense and always keep the “Fun Factor” in mind when adjudicating the rules. What really helped me was applying tactics from the real world. Once contact it made, the battlefield is chaotic and noisy. Remember, even without communicators, team members would be yelling enemy positions, requesting help, etc. Since the game is brutal by design, make it fun but keep it fair for both sides. And remember your story points, and the Hero of the Story cards. Those will change the battle when you need it most… I haven’t seen anyone roll 1’s as much as you except possibly Will Weaton. 🤣 Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the first campaign turn.
@IthaquasBane3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha I have no problems being compared to Wil, but his dice rolling pales in comparison 😁. The first mission in the Expansion Intro Campaign has all crew fully healed after the battle, so I wasn't going to use any Story Points. The Hero of the Story, I am planning to only use as last resort. And regarding the rules, I try to get as much correct when I start so that I don't continue with bad applications. Many thanks for the comments 👽

Were did you get that great terrain? It looks great. It really draws you into the game. The mat looks great too. What size is it? Did your Bot get his name from Red Dwarf? LOL
@IthaquasBane Жыл бұрын
Hi and many thanks for watching! The floor tiles are from Worldworksgames (total size is about 30" square), and the terrain is a mix of DaveGraffam and Genet models. And I'm sorry but the Bot is not named from the amazing Red Dwarf hahahaha (love that show). I actually named him from an old movie "The Admirable Crichton" starring Kenneth More 😁

Thanks for the video. 5 Parsecs From Home is my first go at a skirmish game, so the video was really helpful. Do you measure distances of the miniatures from centre to centre or from the closest edge of the bases?
@IthaquasBane6 ай бұрын
Many thanks for watching!! This is an older video on the channel, so please excuse the language..... lower audio and video quality! 😁 Unless the rules specify otherwise I always measure from edge to edge, but as long as you and every other player uses the same method any method should be good!

You can always fire any weapon that has a ranged attack; you don't need to keep moving when you can see an enemy but can not go into hand to hand combat with them because they have a higher combat skill. Stay back and shoot them.

Hi just found your channel. I am mostly a historical guy but I have done a few videos on Core Space characters etc. But I am a fan of this game and also core Space. Loving your videos so far. Your bot character is it supposed to be from red dwarf? Have you changed the sound of his name on purpose because it should be pronounced cryton? No worries either way. Hope to start playing myself sometime soon. Got a lot of catching up on your campaign. Regards Anthony
@IthaquasBane2 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony and thanks for the comment!! I got the Bot's name from a movie I used to show my students in their "Leadership" class: "The Admirable Crichton" www.imdb.com/title/tt0296973/ . The thought of having a butler Bot was appealing at the time, especially since I had the perfect model! I have some historical games and series planned for the future, there just isn't enough time to do everything I want hahaha. I hope you enjoy the channel and thanks again for joining us. 😁

@@IthaquasBane I hunted down Admirable Crichton. You can actually find it on KZbin in HD. Been watching your campaign I think I am upto mission 9? If I were to critique anything, I think your hoarding your money a bit too much and the same for story points after all they are there for you to use, it is not cheating. Your only playing a 20 mission campaign right? You could have saved your battle suit using a story point too. Anyway enjoying the story. I am itching to start a campaign myself.

I'm late to this, but damn I like your paper models. I'm currently attempting to make the Dave Graffam's models and I struggle with the warping. I'm probably using too much glue and the paper might not be thick enough... Do you do something special or you are only using cardstock?
@IthaquasBane Жыл бұрын
Hi and many thanks for watching! Normally I just use 230gsm card unless the model is very small in which case I use 160gsm. Warping will always be an issue to an extent but you can reduce the effect by ensuring you use a low water content glue or an alternative like spray adhesive or double sided tape. For large models such as buildings I sometimes place braces/supports inside to provide strength and to keep the shape. Hope that helps 😁
@lockedlake Жыл бұрын
@@IthaquasBane It does! Thanks. I will try to apply the glue with a brush instead of applying it directly on the material. I can't wait to have a big Babylon set! Though the stairs are a real pain to assemble
