While searching for the man who invaded their ship, Captain Reiko and her crew find a mysterious location deep in the mountains of Caladan IV, and have the most perilous fight of their lives.
Join JMBeraldo in another experimental way of telling a story by using the random generation of the solo miniature wargame Five Parsecs From Home, and a lot of unexpected dice rolls!
This story is set in the science fiction universe of Veiled Space, in which Humankind is just another of the dozens of decentralized alien species considered too primitive to join the mighty League of Worlds.

RULES NOTES
----------------------
I liked the idea of destructible terrain (the toxic moss) from Episode 5, and decide to expand on it. The actual rules will soon be on the Community tab. The idea is to have a system that allows you to mix and match "modules" and make your own destructible terrains.
I also decided to add the mining drones as an element of the game, moving at the end of each Round in a predefined path. I guess in the end it was to my advantage, as they kept blocking the enemy from, moving or shooting at me!

Alien art by Felipe Martini (www.artstation...) and Renato Leite (www.artstation...)
Terrain DIY by JMBeraldo.
Miniatures by Loot Studios (lootstudios.com/), Reaper's Bones, Warcradle's Wild West Exodus and Star Wars: Legion, including a LOT of kitbashing.
Music by John Leonard French (assetstore.uni...)

What a twist! And the drone moves, the plants growing. Great mechanics I'll add in my own games.

Thanks! I'll post the rules I used on the community tab this week. I made them so they are modular and can be used in different contexts

Had me on the edge of my seat there. Really thought our favourite little cowboy biker was a goner. Was that spaceship trash-bashed? It looked really effective. At first glance I thought it was a 3d print or a toy.

Thanks! He almost bought it this time 😟 The ship is a juice bottle with some parts of a toy gun and LOTS of plastic and cardboard hahah. I originally made it for the crew, but ended up preferring the sleeker design from the first episode

Thanks! I had that species created a long time ago for a novel, but rarely had the time to explore it. I'll see if I can bring it in more often

Thanks! I'm trying to make the battlefield feel more alive that just background that is there, without drawing more attention than the characters themselves. I hope I'm achieving it!

Thanks, Falco! I realized one of my new hobbies is browsing DIY and dollar stores for hours in search of "interesting shapes" to use as game terrains 😅

Your channel (as well as "me, myself and die") are a great source of motivation to keep going 😅 did you prepare the minis and Terrain exclusively for five parsecs? Or do you have the lying around for other games? Unfortunately I'm not crafting as much as I would like. Still preparing my first battle for five parsecs from home.

@Falco C Me, Myself and Die is an amazing channel. I came across it after recording my first mission, and it was what made me want to try to do voices 😅 I used to have a bunch of miniatures, but life got in the way. I moved to Singapore (from Brazil) about an year ago, so I had to start from scratch. It's been quite a lot of fun learning to make terrain, paint and kitbash. You should try it if you can!

I was wondering about the cool looking mouthwash shaped ship too! I’m new to war gaming (I don’t even have minis, or pdfs/books yet,) this is really encouraging and inspiring!

Cool mining Drones, they look just like Ants. BOSS BATTLE!!!!!! Dame, this was a Bloody fight. "This will give me a headache" "worst hangover ever" Better a Bad Hangover then DEAD I supposed. Is that Fish take coral your using for the moss? Thats the first thing that comes to my mind at least.

I was freaking out with the death count on that mission :D The moss is some sort of decorative moss for... gardens? I'm not sure hahaha I found it in a bunch of colors sold cheap from China, so I figured I could try them out. Had the idea for the growing toxic moss rules while setting up the last mission

Loving this. Particularly the chatter between the characters and their enemies, and the “info boxes” that pop up with appropriate rules. The whole thing has been very well thought out. Are you doing all the voices yourself, and modulating them, to make them individual, or are there others doing voices? Please keep this series going - you have inspired me to start another 5PFH campaign, and I am in the middle of Gloomhaven! Cheers,

Thanks a lot for that comment, Jeff! It's good to know what is working ❤️ I'm doing all the voices, yes. I still need to figure out other ways to modulate the voice as what I got now is very limited, so I had to add extra sound effects by hand on some of them (like Nagal and the specialists in this video). I hope you have fun watching AND play. This I'd an amazing game that really helps create your own story

How do you pronounce "Hidh"? I always look forward to your videos!
@veiledspace
@veiledspace Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! Aaaand... I'm not sure of how to say Hidh hahah I can't remember how I came up with the name, probably before deciding to do the voice overs and realizing I didn't know how to say it :D I usually say it at the past of Hide (hid), but I feel like it needs some extra intonation there to feel more alien. Which is why most of the characters call him "Big guy" :D

Loved the mining drones. Did you roll for random directions?
@veiledspace
@veiledspace Жыл бұрын
Thanks! That was my original idea, but I ended up going for a pre-defined path since they are automations: Each one moves from their ruin to a specific crate placed nearby, then back, as if placing rocks and parts there, then returning to cut more of it.
