In Australia a genuine MB relay is over $900 and a 3 month wait ! I went with Beckman and never looked back. My 190E works very well however my Klima relay is starting to quit. We use A/C all year round here so now I’m searching for a decent air cond relay

As soon as the video started I began to wonder, "Is that the relay I left at your shop?" Thought answered. :-) It figures that it was going to be something simple. So for those reading comments, I always keep a spare relay. I have a rebuilt relay from the company Pierre mentioned, which replaced the relay Pierre was holding in this video, which had replaced whatever relay was in my SEC when I purchased it. HAVE A SPARE! Even if it is crap one from eBay as long as you have tested and know it works it's good to just have one in the car in case of afailure.

Pierre, the advice I am most grateful for you have given, was the 1 - 3 mm play for the plate adjustment to get flow plate to the correct position to start - this allowed me today to start my car at 0F with the initial adjustment being made in my shop at 65 F

I've overhauled mine, ressoldering the components and the terminals. And more, I've added an emergency relay inside it that shorts the proper pins once the extra wire gets grounded.

Thanks Pierre. I wasn't aware these relays were hard to find and the after market versions were basically junk.

Hi, excellent information! I have the mystery stalling situation you described and its finally solved... ! It would be great if you posted a close up picture of the original OEM Mercedes and Strider acceptable substitute relay to better identify them. Thanks!

The reason these cheaper relays fail (in my experience) is due to moisture ingress. The cases aren't weatherproofed AT ALL!

I always carry one with me inside my m103 300ce. I think what makes the go bad is moisture, the casing is not water tight

Just bought a New KAE, one for a 280se. Now I'm thinking I should get another new genuine, or rebuilt one just in case.

Thanks Pierre! I have a 1993 Mercedes 190E 2.6L and was pulling my hair looking for the fuel pump relay as I don't have one located adjacent to my over-protection relay. I only see a MAS relay and as you stated 1993's don't have them. My 190e has been sitting for about 1 1/2 years and now it's having a hard time starting up. Usually takes 2-3 cranks of the ignition key then starts up. It stutters, shakes and wants to die and needs assistance by pressing on the accelerator. I'm about to change the fuel pumps, fuel accumulator, fuel filter, fuel injectors, bottom fuel tank filter screen, threaded fuel distributor filter, and fuel pressure regulator as they have never been changed since the factory. Any additional advice, please reply. Thanks!

If you have that kind Merc, the firs thing you need to know how to, Is jumping the pins with 6 inch long wire to make fuel pump running no meter what.

Hi Pierre, I did leave a comment on a previous video, I can't remember which one, where I asked the question about my car. On a reasonably long run, the car drives faultlessly but coming to a stop, the engine dies, not always, sometimes, it restarts no problem. I have replaced the relay, VCB, alternator, potentiometer and fuel accumulator. I would dearly like to cure this problem as it really is quite dangerous. Any ideas? Its a 91 W 124 E300
