And superman story is in this case a 5 movies arc, that no one knew at the time, but now we know. Some of us are just more inteligent in realising that without being told.

No not really. All his movies are criticised for reasons unknown. And Marvel is not going to appoint a director like Zack who takes his movies seriously while Marvel uses comedy as a tool to keep people on the seats rather than unique stories and fight scenes etc

Divvay Khatri I kind of agree. we have seen a number of directors walk away from marvel because they were unwilling to compromise. WB allowed Zack to make two DC films without compromise, and his 3rd suffered from meddling. Patty Jenkins LEFT marvel and then made Wonder Woman, which Zack produced! I think WB is more focused on bringing directorial visions to life. it's too bad the general audience is more interested in ACTION films with a superhero template rather than true comic book films, analyzing society and exploring humanity and philosophy.

@@josepholsen7450 what on earth are you talking about? Zack's movies aren't Michael bay movies. Man of steel still had a fairly simple plot but batman v Superman is a movie that works on multiple levels. It's not just about Luthor manipulating the heroes. The story is way way bigger than that. Superman's arc was to go through backlash that he would face in a real world and in the end, sacrifice himself for the world making the world realise sups' importance. A more powerful character arc was of Batman's. He was gone so far into madness that he had started killing. He had lost way too many people and batman ing for 20 years had made a toll on him. It's all addressed in the movie just not told directly. The audience didn't get it cause they are way too spoon fed with simple marve stories that can be covered in 4-5 lines. Batman tries to murder Superman and Superman begs for someone else's life rather than his own. That someone else being martha makes Bruce hesitate for a moment. Then Lois comes and tells him that Superman's mother is martha. Then he realises that sups was begging for someone else's life just like how Thomas Wayne was pleading for Martha's life with his dying breath. This humanises Superman in Batman's eyes and brings about a change in him as he realises what he has become because he was doing what his parents' killer did. This change solidifies when superman sacrifices himself and Bruce changes and stops killing. Oh also, Bruce is the one who saves martha, not batman. It was Bruce who after years of suffering got the chance of redemption by saving someone he dreams about every night. And proof for batman not killing anymore is him not killing or even branding lex. THIS is a good story with some actual depth. It all just went over people's head because 1. Studio cut down important plot points from the theatrical cut and the movie became a mess. 2.people may agree to this or not but anytime anyone noticed anything that you can make others feel stupid, they immediately jump on it. So that martha moment worked only for the people who understood what had happened to batman in this movie and everyone else was like wtf... 3. People weren't ready for a proper story driven movie. All they wanted was a beat em up batman v Superman movie while this actually has one of the best stories for a comic book movie.

Divvay Khatri I think you misunderstood, lol. I love MoS and BvS. probably the top 2 superhero films of the decade! what I meant was that the MCU pumps out action based films that merely use comics as a background. Zack's films on the other hand are much deeper and explore philosophical, mythological, and humanity based concepts. people say his movies are style over substance, but they're really just both on all levels. BvS is phenomenal, and I feel that MoS and BvS only suffered from the fact that people were riding a Sugar Rush high after avengers. imagine if MoS had come out in 2009 after The Dark Knight. WB would be in a much more confident position. my hope is that the studio has learned from Joker that they truly can continue to back unique projects that aim to tell deeper stories. Hell, in my opinion Joker is such a base level shallow "deep" film compared to BvS: UE.

WB is NOT finding a Superman replacement as perfect as is Henry, not anywhere any time soon (unless Reeves is reincarnated, that nearly unparallelly handsome SOGun).. Especially when teamed alongside Ben, the best Batman to date, they were a match made in Heaven.. Shame on you WB, for ruining DC's chance at a unique EU by stifling Zack's masterfully crafted atmoshere and chickening out from your OWN mandated Nolanesque template, beginning with SS and finally dropping the ball with JL. I guess it started when Chris wasn't as able to fully keep the suits off of Zack's back beginning with their outrageous demands and insistance for a premature BvS.. I PRAY that AT&T completely relieve's WB of their DC comission, just outright rip's it away from their unworthy hands and reinstate Zack along with the Nolans fully on counseling
