I loved this song before but after work today, I have gained a new level of respect for it. One of my co-workers was former military, quiet guy, just wrenches and keeps to himself usually. He also has a bit of a limp. He asked me who this band was so I told him. He then told me how much it reminded him of when he was in Baghdad. He was on gunner duty on an MRAP one day and they hit an anti-tank mine. 3 to be exact that were stacked which really adds devastation. Said the mines opened the vehicle like a can opener and the only reason he survived was because the explosion launched him out and away from the vehicle. He broke his pelvis, leg, collar bone and lost most of his hearing in his left ear, still managed to pull his guys out of the MRAP afterwords, then said he passed out and woke up in a hospital. No one else in his squad survived, just him. Im not speechless very often but that was the first time I didn't know what to say so I just hugged him and patted him on the shoulder.

Thanks guys ill let him know! So I have actually been promoted at my job since I posted this and I now work alongside him. I'm the nightshift service advisor/foreman and he's one of the Freightliner diesel techs at our shop. He has become a very great friend as well as an awesome co-worker! We both ride motorcycles so we hangout pretty regularly outside of work. He's a badass dude for sure and of course, I always give him the good work, not only because he's my buddy but because he also happens to be the fastest tech at our shop when it comes to alignments, brakes and suspension work. Got nothing but respect for him and his work ethic!

Crawl out of the hole you're in Who you are is not who you've been Now's the time to sink or swim Will you fight the tide or get lost within And I know you're feeling low Feel like you've lost control But the darkness that you know It's not your home and you're not alone And all you've wanted was just so much more This world has taken a hold Don't let 'em get your soul The silence You feel it cold as a winter storm This world has taken a hold Don't let 'em get your soul Iron bars are hell to break Tell me now, do you know what's at stake? Your whole life in a blank stare haze You walk around like the end of days And I know you're feeling low Feel like you've lost control But the darkness that you know It's not your home and you're not alone And all you've wanted was just so much more This world has taken a hold Don't let 'em get your soul The silence You feel it cold as a winter storm This world has taken a hold Don't let 'em get your soul I'm callin' out to you Can you hear me? They can't break you down Let you hit the ground I promise you it won't be long You're feeling overwhelmed here Drowned by the pain and the fear The sun will come with the dawn All you've wanted was just so much more This world has taken a hold Don't let 'em get your soul The silence You feel it cold as a winter storm This world has taken a hold Don't let 'em get your soul Get your soul

Listening to music like this helps me calm down. I have some anger problems and it gets harder and harder to fight them as I get older. I am usually able to suppress my anger. But one girl helps me when I can’t hold it in anymore. She helps me to the point that I am not mad anymore. Everything washes away and I forget about everything that makes me mad. And I wanted to say. If you ever get mad or depressed, let people know. Don’t just hide it. Let them help you figure out how to help you. I hope this will help someone one day.

This song hits home. I've lived a rough life from falling on a rebar fence with spikes at 6 y/o, and learning that I don't feel pain after getting a spike 3 in. My arm. Dying at 13 from a severe car accident and. They said that they didn't know why I was able to recouperate. Been through several life and death situations. But I'm sick of getting back up. I wsh God would just take me. I don't want to survive anymore. But it's like I'm wired every time I get severly hurt I get back up and walk away. Knife in my leg or not.

There will come in point where silence will take over. Emotions will fade and erode away until your left broken in pieces. Being broken over and over will cause you to give up trying to put it together and just try sweeping it all away. Once you get rid of all that was, what remains is hollow. What's next is for the world to see and only for you to know. The end isnt so scary, it's only losing what you had that holds you back. You can ether choose to live on with what you are. Or let go.

This helps a lot to keep me going, I’ve been struggling with my thoughts for so long and I’m so tired. Just as I thought I was getting better I soon realized my thoughts were just playing me and I’m so tired.
