This video sealed the deal for me. Going to be putting this amp into my 4runner with Focal components in the front and Focal coaxial in the rear with the tailgate speakers jumped to give the rear door speakers a 4ohm load. Looking at getting a 12" Kicker L7 down-firing box to keep as much hatch space as I can. Now I need to decide between a Sony XAV-AX6000 or Alpine iLX-507. I like the simple nature of the Sony, but I've always had Alpine HU's in my car since the late 90's and know how well they work. Decisions Decisions.

@TalonPro3 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt hold my breath for an answer.
@bobking73472 жыл бұрын
If you're shutting it down from overheating, you're doing something wrong, either pushing it too hard. Have crappy current reserves from your alt where the voltage dips to low, or you have things setup incorrectly, or you just need a bigger Amp....

Hi Dean can a dual 4ohm voice coil woofer be used on 2 amplifiers. Meaning 2 ,5 channel amplifier using 2 coils on 1 amplifier then other 2 coils on other amplifier. It had some significant offset results left to right and front to rear. I'm considering this amp for my Maserati but I'm a bit concerned about the power offsets. If I set the gain for front and have 20w difference Right to Left one speaker will be quieter and there's no way to level match it other than adjusting balance in the deck which then reduces output voltage. Any ideas why these amps are so inconsistent?

@@seanmichael2777 yea if I was running low power high cone area builds the audio control would be nice. My dd is rated 125x4@4 180x4@2 for the 4 channel side and 680@4, 1000@2, and 1500@1 and has been proven to nearly make 2000w at 1ohm on the sub channel. Being in a truck a pair of stout 10s in a ported box under the seat on decent power does wonders. I've got 2 6.5s on that amp at 1 ohm ported under the sear right now since I wanted to play with the tiny subs. I'm looking at rebuilding for 10s right now since my seat lift is in and I put my new carpet in. 3.4cubic feat of air space gives me lots of options. I could do 6 6.5s, 4 8s, 2 10s, 1 beefy 12, or even a 15 with that space though a 15 would be difficult due to depth though not impossible

@@raymo6795 Normally with a Philips screw terminal is nothing wrong with. There are a lot of respectable companies who don’t use Alan heads; but the Philips screws are then built in a nice plastic terminal block. These are made in a same way as my nineties Kenwood KAC-921; only with ring terminals you will be sure that you don’t shorten something out.
