Skyler, you are so real about your life! The ‘alone and lonely’ is actually a very important time of healing. Many people look for distractions (dates, alcohol, drugs, or other excessive behavior). When I was at that stage after my divorce, I felt that very strongly over a year later. My counselor welcomed it and explained that now the real healing begins if you stay with it, work with it. And you seem to do all - short walks, your deep searches, to share . . . you are remarkable!! ❤

You never get used to not having your kids for Holidays. Divorce is a club nobody wants to be apart of. It’s been 8 years for me and I still hate holidays without my kids. Just know you are a great dad and doing everything you can for them to make it special. They are happy, and that is what matters.

Dollar Tree has loads of Christmas decor -$1.25 Also construction paper cut in strips and glued to make colorful paper chains to decorate trees.

It’s a wonderful life is one of my favorites. It was my grandpa’s favorite and we would watch every Christmas Eve with him. Since he’s passed I watch with my kids every Christmas Eve. So it turned into a family tradition to watch it’s a wonderful life every Christmas Eve 💜

Polar Express is such a good one. Transported me back to my childhood. Did the back and fourth thing for almost 20 years with my 2 boys now 20 and 28. As a Mom who’s main dream was to have an intact family… it was extremely difficult. My heart goes out to you. Happy to see you have a great support system and doing well. Much love and comfort hugs. I've never seen ELF, But my favorite Christmas movie, that I have to watch every year is "Meet Me in St Loius" With Judy Garland. It's a musical, and I don't think there has ever been a remake of it. The Christmas song most people will recognize that came from it is "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" I first saw it in my freshman drama class in highschool, and I've loved it ever since. (That was back in 1973, and it was on an old fashioned 8 mm movie theatre roll) (OMG! My high school years are now considered old-fashioned!!!!!)

Not sure if you can get these in the US but Natvity Navity 2 and Navity 3 are great films. Set in a UK primary school such cool songs and story. For me Love Actually is a great film and Elf. We saw the musical version in London last year x
