Would love to see a video on insertional achilles tendonitis. I've been to 2 different PTs now, and neither of them seem to be skilled in resolving this issue. In fact, the last one I had was asking me to improve my dorsiflexion in my effected foot, all while I was still in the reactive phase of the injury. This turned in to instant agony and set me back several weeks. Now I'm on the hunt trying to find someone who knows how to handle this
@lyndalasen57332 жыл бұрын
Yes much needed for insertional. Heel drops are worst thing for insertional
@xbadandy182x2 жыл бұрын
Are you recovering from insertional as well? How's it going? Any tips? So far, for me.. the only thing that works is lots of Advil, Acetaminophen, and Voltaren. Its not good to mix all 3 of these but I am in alot of pain so here I am. The other thing is I haven't worn a closed-back shoe for 2 weeks now, so I don't agitate my heel. I have Hoka recovery sandals and I purchased some Dr. Scholls rubber heel lifts I set on the back of the sandal to lift my heel a bit. Its frustrating. Any time I dorsiflex my foot, even 2 months into this recovery - instant flare up. When it flares up aside from the medicine.. Ice. Spiky massage ball and roll it on my foot. Then I use a foam roller and go at my calves, quads, hamstrings and glutes. I have avoided all stretching - anything that compresses the tendon over the heel causes a flare up. Its really hard to find an answer for WHEN its time to start introducing dorsiflexion. Literally no one has an answer for that. Its like am I supposed to just never dorsiflex my foot again my entire life? This sucks.

I've just had this and my Physio in Pafos Cyprus was amazing. From real pain to walking freely and up a ladder again in two weeks. Setting aside the excellent treatment I would strongly recommend ice packs and keeping the foot raised. Simple, but boy was it sore at the time.

I do Essentrics every day and it has completely removed all my heel pain. It's concentric exercises that hurt because you are shortening the muscle and that makes everything pull and hurt more. The key is to be gentle but that goes for all pain relief and prevention.
@xbadandy182x2 жыл бұрын
What were the specifics of your routine? Did you just do drops single leg from the floor? Did you add extra weight as you continued on? Was it painful along the way and did you carry on with the exercises regardless? Did you wear shoes during this process? Did the heel in the shoe ever cause the heel to flare up in pain? After all of these exercises did your tendon stiffness clear up as well? Can you dorsiflex your foot like normal now? I am 2 months in to this and can't get past the reactive stage. It sucks.

Ok. This is going to seem strange. I have bursitis in my hip. I saw where someone said to use a rolling pin to massage the outside of the hip. It works. I could not lay on that hip at all. I figured why not try it on my calf. It does help stretch that muscle too.

Magnesium bisglycinate if your body is cramping so easily😊. Thank you for the stuff to help heal. Is it common to feel the pain also across the side of ankle towards the front of your foot and bottom of heel? It also is touch sensitive on palpitation on the outside side side of my foot beneath my ankle? No problems ever. Slept with a weighted blanket for the first time. Remember flicking my foot in the middle of the night to move the blanket. Did not feel painful at the time. Next day, and on into my third day, pretty bad pain. Could hardly walk. No bruising, or swelling that I can see. Seems to be what you describe for Achilles’ tendonitis

running in circles and figure eights before getting on the field may be a good idea as well... im finding it very difficult to get back to normal. just strained it again shuffle dancing (wasn't thinking) ... Some great advice as usual, thank you. I do the band and step exercise but not the massage. When it's inflamed the massage would be perfect I think. I had a stroke 3years ago spent a month in hospital therapy there and The New Beginnings stroke and brain injury recovery therapies now in both places they use eccentric exercise and stretch and I find it works wonders for both stroke damage and my Achilles heel. Just wanted to also thank you two so much for my impingement and bruisitis stretches, it's been almost 5 months and since taking your advice in the past 2wks I feel at least 50-60%better. Right shoulder doing good left shoulder because I'm left handed and had a super inspenatis tear about 10yrs ago still pretty bad. But working with my chiropractor who also has a quantum neurology degree says we should be doing much better in no time doing your stretches and his techniques. Sorry usually don't leave messages, so I blurted out everything. You guys are amazing thank you.🌈

I massaged the soleus and the Achilles pain went away in both tendons. Unfortunately, 30 minutes later the tenderness returns but the massage gets rid of the pain. Do I need a deeper soleus massage to get the pain gone for good?
@xbadandy182x2 жыл бұрын
How are you doing now and howd things work out? Sounds like the foam rolling or massaging will temporarily lengthen the muscles in the chain bringing relief.. but short-term those muscles will retract and things will tighten up again. Long injury to heal unfortunately... 🥺

Any advice on an ankle injury that got both my Achilles and the leg nerves inflamed (outside of the leg down all the way down then at the top of the foot)? I'm seeing both a PT and a chiropractor and I'm afraid I'll go broke before that nerve will calm back down. The pain is worse, not better after my appointments.

KZbin videos should be like wills - when you update each topic delete all the previous ones. Why have a bunch of videos about fixing one specific injury? I wouldn’t mind so much but each 15 minute video only contains two minutes of useful information.
