I do lots of outdoor activities and have been mending different types of fabrics for many years but I still learned some new things in this video. Thanks!

You're very knowledgeable and do a great job explaining things! You do a wonderful job demonstrating each method (fingers never get in the way of the camera, clear lighting, working slowly enough for the audience to see, etc.). Do you tailor or mend professionally? I think it would be super interesting to watch you mend different types garments/fabrics with different kinds of wear and tear, especially with challenging issues that require some creative workarounds. Thought of this when you demonstrated embroidery as a repair method - you do lovely work, and definitely could be a professional if you aren't already! Either way, thanks for the helpful video!

Thank you so so much! This is the best feedback I ever received! 🥹 My whole family in Italy is in the garment industry, I guess I soaked in from them very young. I would love this to become a business! For now I live off a desk job :) Suggestions noted! Lots of love

Could you say what kind of mending tape you use? Thank you!

Hi Joann, I use “iron-on mending fabric”. I can’t check the brand at the moment, but if you google it you’ll find a few options ☺️

I ENJOY your videos about repairing clothing! I didn't know there was such a thread as elastic thread! I have a sweater that I can use the cuff repair you demonstarted. Also, the loose socks! I never thought of weaving elastic through it, thank you for that tip! Now my question: How do you fix a whole in a knit wool sweater? I bought a beautiful knit wool sweater online from Banana Republic and paid almost $100 for it on sale. I didn't inspect it carefully when I got it and I didn't wear it for bit of time. Eventually, when I tried it on, I see there is a whole in one of the shoulder near the shawl collar. I guess it was a return and I very disappointed that I can't return it. Have you ever fixed anything like this? If so, can you put it on this KZbin channel? Thanks.

Hello Robin! Thank you very much for watching! The easiest way to repair a hole in knits is darning as explained in this video, You would just have to select a yarn that is as similar as possible to the sweater’s. I hope this helps!

where can you find cloth to use at patches that wont fray to sew on? if i try and search it only I get iron on patches that don't fray, which i don't want. definitely will be saving this video for the future, so helpful

Thank you Emily ❤️ fabrics that don’t fray are knits, but of course you want to pick the same type of fabric as the one you’re patching, so use knit in knit and woven on woven. The beginning of the video tells the difference between the two

remember when clothes used to come with matching color yarn?

I still see that sometimes, it add a whole lot of value to the clothes in my opinion 🤗

Your video is great. One comment on pronunciation of applique. It has 3 syllables. App-lee-kay. It's derived from French.

Hi Valentina, it's a hobby of mine to guess people's language/ethnicity. Are you Italian, north, south? 🦉

Hello Emily ☺️ You guessed it! I’m from Puglia, it’s the heel of the boot (south of Italy)
