Fix for License Error via PKGi Method? - Cause and Solution | [PS3-HEN/TUT] | 2022

PSA: This Tutorial's meant for HEN Users Only. CFW Users don't have to use this Method.
Follow this Method for CFW: • (Re-Upload) Activate ....

★ How to Install? ★
➤ Place the .PKG File into the root of the USB, then Install it via Package Manager. (USB Method)
➤ Place the .PKG File into /dev_hdd0/packages, then Install it via Package Manager. (FTP/FileZilla Method)

- PKGi (v1.1.6)
- webMAN MOD (v1.47.37)
★ Notes ★
➤ This was done on HEN 4.88 HFW. (Tested/Working, Confirmed by Me)
➤ You don't need to use the Specific Versions of CFW Apps I've used in the Video. It doesn't matter.

Note (for Pros/Cons):
I'll be Updating this from time to time, if I missed anything.
Pros
- You don't need to have PSN Access (Defeats the purpose of being Connected to PSN Servers; Note: An Internet Connection is still required to Download/Install Games from PKGi)
- reActPSN/PSN Patch and PSN Account Activation aren't needed
- The "exdata" Folder will automatically be Created in the "/dev_hdd0" Directory via PKGi. (I suggest Backing it up, because this won't affect the License(s) for the Games that were Activated on the User you've used Apollo Save Tool with - Tested/Working)
Cons
- USB/Internet Connection are needed
Important:
Create a Backup of your own "xRegistry.sys" File via "/dev_hdd0/flash2/etc". Go into this Directory and Copy the File into a USB/FTP it onto your PC/Laptop before attempting to proceed with this Tutorial.
Note (for "xRegistry.sys" File that you've Backed Up):
Reason for doing this is, if something goes wrong, then you can Restore it back into the Directory I've wrote above. Restart Console afterwards and everything you had will go back to the way they were before doing the Tutorial.

- Internet Connection (for Downloading Games)
- FAT32 Format USB/FTP (for Backing Up/Restoring "xRegistry.sys" File)
- CFW Apps such as Apollo Save Tool (for Activating a User) & File Manager (Example: ManaGunz File Manager/MultiMAN for Transferring Files, if you don't have a USB) and PKGi (for Downloading/Installing .PKG Files)
- WinRAR Program/Any Similar Program (for Extracting .RAR Files)

I wanted to Live Stream it, but decided to make a Video instead, because some parts kept getting cut off. Basically you're Downloading/Installing a Game via PKGi App without the need of having to Activate a PSN Account on the System or using reActPSN/PSN Patch to Activate the .RAP File(s). However, I can't confirm that this Method/Tutorial will work for everyone. This is another Alternative and can be put to great use, if you're Console Banned or don't have access to Sony's Servers. *PSA (Applies to CFW/HEN Users)* You don't need to keep doing this Method every time for each Game. After you're done following what I did in the beginning until the part where it comes to Downloading/Installing the Game, then that's all you have to do. Simply Download/Install a Game and it'll automatically get Activated during that process. When I downloaded a game, click was told need to sign in psn. My system on 4.89, I couldn't even sign up let alone sign in without being told to update system and I'm aware the latest 4.90 is still fresh. Since the 4.90 update I haven't been able to access psn and I was so annoyed because all the games I wanted were missing jb folder versions which I prefer using because of webman, and so I was forced to find a method and you delivered one! Thanks a lot for this video. The Apollo app activated the game. I manually downloaded the rap file of the game to the exdata folder. I couldn't install Pckgi as I get an error: pkgi.txt file(s) missing or bad config.txt file. It may be because I have a different version of webMan installed on my modded PS3.

In theory, the Activated PSN Account will overwrite the one you've Activated from Apollo, but I haven't Tested it yet. Will certainly give it a try and respond back.

No problem. My theory has been confirmed. An Activated PSN will overwrite the Fake Activated Profile, so you don't have to worry about getting the .RAP Files again to Re-Activate the Installed Game(s) unless they've been Deleted from your PS3.

It's probably just the .RAP File for that Game. I had this Issue with WWE 2K16. It came with a .RAP File, but upon Launch; Error 80010017 occurred. That indicates the .RAP File is Invalid.

Ok. I don't think .PKG Files would be affected by the Blu-Ray Drive. I've done this Method with a PS3 that doesn't have a working Blu-Ray Drive. It's just used for Digital Games.

It's a Network Issue. Keep trying. Have you tried altering the DNS Settings in Network Settings? That might work. Let me know how it goes.

You should be able to. Go to "Saved Data Utility" under "Games" on the XMB and you should see your Game Saves from there. You'll need a USB to save them, but in case the Game Save can't be Transferred, because it's Locked, then you can get it from the File Manager. Directory for Game Saves (Example: 1st User): - Go to "/dev_hdd0/home/00000001/savedata". Reason for Game Saves not showing? - You'll have to Rebuild Database for the Game Saves to appear in another User. How to Rebuild Database? - Go to "Hybrid Firmware Tools" under "Network" on the XMB. - Go to "Service Tools" - Go to "Rebuild Database" - Done
