Hello, I’ve been suffering from anterior pelvic tilt for several months and I’m tired of it. It slows me down in Track & Field, it’s hard for me to sleep on my back which is my favorite sleeping position; I don’t have any back pain or hip flexor pain as sitting and lying on a harder surfaces helps a lot. My ATP causes me to walk straight up causing my ribs to flare.
@juliusjackson51622 жыл бұрын
@Upright Health Since I’m very serious in Track & Field, I always strengthen my abs, glutes, hip flexors, and the rest of my lower body muscles. I’ve been even stretching my tight hip flexors; they fly in the air when I reverse my pelvic tilt because they’re so tight even after all of the strengthening and stretching. I’m not really sure what to do as no one takes me seriously and it’s extremely frustrating as an athlete as I can’t do my very best in the sport I love. Should I continue to contract my abs to reduce hip tightness or even fix my arched back? Could rib flare cause tightness cause tight hip flexors? No one really understands what I’m going through which makes it very hard since it’s just me; I really need help.

I have had a left hip issue since 2018. Went to Dr and told I had arthritis in my hip. He said take Celebrex. I chose no. I did so many exercises to alleviate the issue. Still hobbled after sitting. I recently came across this video and did these simple exercises. I was at my wits end. Couldn’t even complete a walk without pain. I had made an appt with the doc again. By the time I got to my appt I thought I should cancel it. It was like a miracle. I had no issues with my hip. I went on a trip and even with lots of sitting on a plane I had no issue. For the first time in years I didn’t think about it. The doc said I had bone on bone arthritis which means hip replacement. They told me to keep doing what I’m doing and come back to see them when it’s an issue. Thank you so much for this video. Life changing! I plan to avoid drugs and surgery.

Yeah, not always. I have had, and still do have, a pillow between my knees when I sleep. But over the years it’s had to be a thicker and thicker and thicker pillow/s. And even with that, it only mildly helps. My hips are insanely tight. These exercises help a whole lot more to strengthen them and solve the underlying issue, rather than catering to my weak muscles.

😢what wonderful advice. Will definitely be doing the exercise. Hip pain wakes me up

It's not just sitting. It's sitting while working at a computer. Reaching forward to the keyboard makes you lean forward at the hips & hip-flexors and ITB. Also it also increases the tension on your hip muscles. I feel it when I stand up.

It sounds like sciatic nerve pain. Visit an orthopedic. I suffer for the same thing and finally got a diagnosis.
@fabienneisore7831 Жыл бұрын
@@tyaartis669 not necessarely. I have same thing, no sciatica. Just pressure on the hip joint triggered from repetitive mouvement leaning forward.

Omg I've had pain in my left hip for weeks now. I've tried yoga, pillows, everything I can think of. I just did this and my left hip already feels better. Thanks a bunch!

This is perfect timing to have this pop up on KZbin. My hips have been killing me at night! I tried to keep fairly active so I thought this was just because my new high-quality bed was not soft enough.I bought an expensive mattress pad, but it’s not helping enough. I just tried this exercise and…well….ouch! 🔥

I was surprised that my recent hip problem was worse when lying in bed! What a revelation! Thank you. I train in Shotokan karate and we have recently started at a new venue with a stone hard, cold floor. That's when my hip and knee pain started and I don't think it's simply a coincidence. I will try the exercises you recommend.

In my journey, I have made a mistake by stretching my left hip. Mostly piriformis and gluteus medius. I torn the muscles slightly. Now I learned a hard lesson that I should never stretch muscles in their weakest state. Because they are dry and stiff. Only stretch muscles when their blood circulation is improved. This is done by strengthening them in the first stage. Do the stretching afterwards.
@TheFunkyKitten Жыл бұрын
Yes! I did this too! Did a pigeon stretch right into the hip and glute and it damaged something in there. Will be trying these :)

I am 72 years of age. and I had been waking up in the A.M. with a great deal of hip pain. I could only walk by powering through the pain. I did 5 reps of those hip / glute exercises just two times skipping one day in between and the pain stopped. I did the side hip exercise with my leg extended, but it worked for me. This was before I viewed your channel, but I have subbed your channel for more input and I am looking forward to practicing more of your exercises. Thank you.

I have hip issues from scoliosis that are exasperated by weak hips but mostly I’ve heard just to stretch the front of the hip since I sit a lot, which isn’t very helpful for a femur that pops in and out of the socket. THIS looks promising. I don’t expect a miracle, my spine’s not straight lol but adding strength to the muscles around the hip will likely decrease the popping and discomfort. Thank you💕
@Uprighthealth2 жыл бұрын
Yup! Let us know how it goes! And check out the Schroth Method. Really fascinating and promising stuff for scoliosis.

Thanks for sharing this! Over the past 4 years or so I've become slowly less and less active (bad on my part) where I went from deadlifts over 400lbs to sitting and really being inconsistent with even basic banded workouts. Two days ago I felt like my hip socket was injured from something as I fell after standing up from waking up in the morning in pain. This was a perfect reminder to force myself to get back to being consistent with working out again since ain't getting younger and life stuff can wait. Health comes first. 👍

Some of the back exercises bother my hips ( hip extensions and squats) and some of the hip exercises bother my back. 🤷♂️but these make sleeping almost pain free! Thank you❤
